Is it possible for a GABA Maintenance agent in the future? Like for opioids/opiates there is Methadone MMT, and Suboxone Maintenance.

Since I am a GABA Agonist Whore (especially GABA-B). I really seem to find GHB, and Phenibut more Euphoric than most people do I guess.

What about for people coming off Benzodiazepines & Other GABA Agonists especially for people with severe habits. I think Scientists and Researchers should definately look into this more. I don't know if this is even possible, but it would sure benefit a lot of fucking people.

a long-acting benzo like diaz could be used in a similar fashion to methadone i guess. once you're addicted to benzos, you don't really feel regular doses. imo, once you've been prescribed/taking benzos daily for a long time, you're pretty much just taking them for maintenance anyway

i think they give alcoholics benzos to get through acute alocoholic withdrawal, but i'm not sure about long-term maintenance--i've generally heard that they only prescribe short-term in those situations bc of benzo addiction. if you're already addicted to benzos, it would be a different situation entirely

You can get a benzodiazepine prescription, and do daily pick ups at a pharmacy. It's a feasible solution, so that you have no ability to run out of meds early, and so that a dose of Valium will last you all day long (or Klonopin, or Xanax XR, or whatever other long acting one your doctor decides is right for you).

There is also a partial agonist benzo, namely flurazepam. It also is a long lasting benzo.

This is probably the closest you'll come to "gaba agonist maintenance".

^ I understand this. But I am not really talking about Benzodiazepines being used as a GABA Maintenance agent here. More or so something to raise GABA-A-B-C Receptor levels and am wondering if it is even possible.

Good question.

I think what you're asking about wouldn't be comparable to ORT then, but all in all, I am interested to see if there is any future research there. I know there are a lot of people whose DOC is a GABA-ergic (whether it be ethanol, benzos, barbs, Z drugs, GHB/GBL, etc.).

Thing is the govt. already has a GABA drug there making quite a lot of money on (booze)...

anyone prescribed benzos long term will eventually find they're just being maintained

i suppose it is useful to be able to dial one's gaba system up or down depending on when one takes one's pills; aka if the script is for social anxiety and you have three a day, take one when waking to feel normal, one when going to bed so you can sleep, and the third whenever you are about to hang out or go to school or whatever

qwe, you answer for dialing gaba system up is GABA antagonists. Very risky, but if you can go 4 or weeks feeling like shit, you trade off for a life time of more gaba. Also, you'd have to be damn sure on the dose because to less

I made a thread on this awhile ago. Search "reverse anti-depressant theory".

^ no i mean, just by taking a gaba-agonist when i want to, i can determine when my peak levels of gaba/relaxation/anxiolysis/somnolence are. this gives me a "dial" of sorts for that system of my brain

i also have a cannabinoid dial :)

the brain swings more heavily toward pain than pleasure. a year on a gaba agonist will produce horrible results (too little gaba) for quite some time upon cessation. a year on a gaba antagonist would produce perhaps some rebound relaxation, but it would not last, would not be worth it, and the rebound swing would be of a lesser magnitude i think

Yes, does anyone know of any GABA-C Agonists besides GABOB?

Anybody tried GABOB before?

Interesting you mention this. I expect to have the chance to try GABOB within the coming weeks, in hopes of it helping me in the final step of my diaz. withdrawal.

Will report back.
