[Feedback Thread] How can WE improve on the PD forum? Suggestions welcome!

Sorry if this has been mentioned anywhere before or if it exists already (someone point me in the right direction if it does please?) but could I suggest some kind of 'glossary of terms' for all the many, many acronyms and shorthand that regular users know? New users (myself included, not to the 'scene' or Bluelight, but to some of the 'slang' and acronyms used when referring to substances, groups or 'scenes' I haven't come across) just browsing a new subject without the aforementioned terminology find it difficult to decipher and then miss the point the poster is trying to make and loose some involvement with the subject or information being offered.

This so sounds like something that already exists, my apologises if it does.

Not a bad idea that actually... pretty sure such a thing does exist somewhere in the Support forum though - maybe in the GLer (Greenlighter ;)) Guide? Worth an ask in Support cos I'm positive I've seen one around and that would be where it is most likely to be found :)

Hi Shambles,

In the greenlighter guide FAQ there is a brief general abbreviations / terminology post but its more aimed at internet slang such as LOL and WTF? etc. Although I now know what YMMV means, (I know I'm slow!) what would be useful for me and new members to Bluelight and the 'scene' would be something more aimed at drug acronyms and abbreviations, things such as OEV's, IV'd etc. which may seem completely obvious to the initiated but to some (myself included) its like a whole new world of guess work and gobbledy-gook. Like the first time I used a computer and someone asked me how much RAM and what CPU I had.

Again if I have missed such a thing I apologise but if I have could you please point me in the right direction as it'd certainly add some clarity to some threads I'm watching.

I will also ask in support like you suggested. Thanks.

^Great suggestion. :)

I second that motion. Perhaps we can start a list somewhere of terms that should be defined, it will probably take some time to compile a complete one-- we prefer to move at a snail's pace around here, the snail being the patron mollusk of the PD forum-- but that sounds like a worthy project for sure. :)

I like this idea... I shall attempt to remember to create a thread for this as a community project. If I don't remember, you can remind me, if you remember to. :D

On a 1280X1024 screen i can only see 3 posts, and that often means 3 sentences.
Dont see the point of this :

I applaud the mods, particularly Delsyd, on the effort to get the 6-APB mess under control. I think it'll go a long way toward getting the rest of the forum back in some semblance of order.

Thanks to all involved and to all that dedicate their time to keeping this place running smoothly.

Aw, no one noticed when I cleaned the entire thing 2 different times. :(

;)

No surprise since it was gaining a new page roughly every 12 minutes at times. If even a single page of crap was added before you looked, you wouldn't have even noticed.

At least the parts I cleaned before will be easy to just grab and merge in.
