Put the fent patch on..

I am hoping it knocks out some of this pain or most. It takes like 4 hours to feel effects? Should I avoid my roxis for breakthrough pain? If so for how long? This is all new territory to me!

I would be sure to wait until the patch has been on long enough to reach stable plasma levels in the blood stream. Then that will give you a better idea of how much it's going to help with your pain, and how necessary the roxis will be.

Always best to take caution with things that take a while to take full effect.

Yea, I had a few visual disturbances but that has passed. All is well at this point. Doesn't it take 20 hours for it to reach peak plasma levels?

Based on this I would say it's in your best interest to wait for a while. How are you doing pain wise thus far?

If it gets serious and you feel you really need to take something for the breakthrough pain, I would recommend contacting either your doctor or call your local pharmacy and get the head pharmacists opinion. That way you could get a more professional opinion.

Are the patches helping at all? Make sure you wait till you know they're in full effect before you bust into your Roxis for breakthrough though chuck. We don't want anything bad happening to you

I was not a fan of fent patches. I could never get to a comfortable level of pain management. It usually wasn't enough on it's own, especially with breakthrough pain, but it seemed to make me nauseas when i'd take my other pain meds on top of it. Hopefully it will work out for you when you get used to it.

Sorry to hear you're having such a tough time with the pain. In one respect roxi isn't all the long lasting, so when the half you took is starting to wear off, hopefully the patch will be starting to kick in more.

The patch is not helping yet.. I have a mini buzz but nothing serious but my pain isn't reduced yet. I took half a roxi hoping to knock out some of that pain and I am monitoring my breathing and vitals to be extra safe. I am hoping it works cause in ways its an easy way to deal with pain just slap on a patch.. though I am still afraid of fentanyl.

I spoke to the receptionist and said I would give the cunt one more try, but if her attitude doesn't change I will be seeing a dr my friend see's for his pain management. I will be addressing everything that was said at the next appt, and I am known to be quite blunt so she will know I will not tolerate her bullshit. The receptionist said I have been a model patient and she will back me on whatever I decide and not allow my record to be tarnished.

So if she doesn't shape up I have another dr on the back burner... I won't be taking any more roxi for the next 6 hours because by then I should be able to gauge how I feel on the patch. It does up my anxiety (most likely due to my fear of the medication to begin with) but this way the dr can't say I didn't try it.. I even got some visual disturbances from it which is weird.. oxy has never done that to me. The fact that it's not doing shit for my pain freaks me out a little bit because it's so strong.. Only time will tell, but all is well here as of now.. thanks

That's a shame that it's not doing the job properly. I wouldn't freak out too much though as maybe Fentanyl doesn't work for you. I mean Oxycodone obviously does so that says something ay?
And it's surely your fear of the Fent that's causing the Anxiety rather than the Fent itself

On the flip-side, that's quality that you and the nurse are tight and on the same team ^_^

I took some roxi.. and goddamn it's like the first time again.. The patch may have a purpose eventhough not the purpose it was intended for.. lol My dr is a moron.
