Methodone vs. Hydrocodone

My buddy has five 10mg methadones he's willing to trade me for five of my 7.5/750's..i have quite a tolerance to benzo's but what should i be expecting methadone to feel like and also how much would you suggest i start with?
 
never tried methadone but hydrocodone metabolizes to hydromorphone (i think) which is the same as dilaudid which is pretty popular around here - from what i can tell
 
Methadone is extremely strong and people with no/low tolerance to opiates should start out slow. I would say 10 mg of methadone = 30-35 hydro. But the cool thing is methadone high last twice as long (20 hour half-life) so it is worth it in my opinion.

Plus done doesnt have tylenol ( acetaminophen) like vikes do which will hurt your liver in the long run

Methadone nor Hydrocodone are benzos so it doesn't have shit to do with that.

Be careful with Methadone if you have no opiate tolerance it's very strong.

No its not a bad idea however as long as its only low dose of methadone. Anything over 40mg of methadone and it will completely block the effects of hydro. So its kinda of a waste of a drug.

On erowid however I read of a guy mixing methadone and heroine and he actually felt them both. If you want me to find that report I ll find it
 
I have never been able to successfully mix methadone with any opiate, all I ever feel is the methadone, even in low doses (10-15mg). So I would agree, waste of money, but you might be different, so as long as you are careful with methadone (start low!). I guess you meant to say opiates instead of benzos, but i'm glad you said something, DO NOT mix benzos (xanax, ativan, etc...) with methadone. As far as what you can expect, to me Methadone seemed like a lot more of a dirty high, and did not produced the amount of euphoria that I personally got from dros, YMMV.

I'd have to disagree, 30-35mg is a bit high, as I can take 60-70mg hydro and be happy, but methadone 50mg feels almost weaker except the sedation effects, but euphoria and itching are below what youd expect

So your trading Hydrocodone 37.5mg for Methadone 50mg. You are making a good trade. Neither Hydrocodone or Methadone are benzodiazepines, they are opiates. If you have little tolerance to opiates I would suggest starting with 20mg of Methadone. Try to remember that Methadone is very strong. Also it takes about 2 hours for the effects to really kick in so don't re-dose until a couple hours and if you feel that you do need to, take just another 10mg. Methadone lasts a very long time, over 12 hours.

EDIT: You mentioned that you have a 30-45 Hydrocodone tolerance. I'd recommend you start with 25mg Methadone then you can redose another 10mg after a couple hours if you feel that you need to. In my opinion Methadone is twice as potent as Hydrocodone.
 
Yeah, good deal. Methadone is a lot stronger and lasts forever. I actually prefer hydro assuming assuming I had a limitless supply of either, but thats to good to pass up.

Yea every person is different and likes different thinks when it comes down to medicating themselves. I have social phobia and long lasting relaxation I get from methadone is a lifesafer (lets say for a 4 hour college class). Hydro's last
anywhere from 1-30 to 2 hours and then leave me with an annoying afterglow that makes me crave more. Could be acetaminophen that plays a role in these unpleasant sideeefects
