Health drink 'laced with ketamine'

An investigation is under way after two women were left seriously ill by a health drink contaminated with horse tranquilliser.

One of the women, aged 60, was reportedly left in a "vegetative state" after drinking the aloe vera juice contaminated with ketamine.

She and another woman, in her 40s, reacted to the drink which they are believed to have bought at a school fair in Leicester.

The 60-year-old is in Leicester Royal Infirmary where her condition is said to be satisfactory.

A spokeswoman for the Health Protection Agency said: "The HPA is advising anyone who has a bottle of this liquid not to drink it and take it to the nearest police station. If they have drunk it they should seek medical advice immediately."

The daughter of the 60-year-old woman said she thought her mother was dying after she suffered a severe reaction to the drink.

The second woman, who fell ill on Friday, is in her mid-40s. She has since been discharged from hospital after being quickly treated with medication to counteract the ketamine.

Leicestershire police said the drink was called Gayatri aloe vera.

Detectives said consumers should treat with caution any juice labelled as aloe vera which is not purple.

I hate stories like this. Everything is so backwards. The people who would want it never end up getting it. People who don't want it get it. And a lot of K was wasted in the process.

How does this shit happen? Botched smuggling job? Malicious assholes out to hurt innocent people? God playing a little joke?

This reminds me of something I heard recently. Some guys were lacing the drinking water at a local housing community with ketamine. This place was off the beaten path, overrun with mushroom-eating freaks, and the permanent residents were the unwitting recipients of the laced water. And there were women there. I can only guess why they were being dosed unwillingly. It makes me sick. I don't normally fight, but I think if I met up with these assholes, I would have to kick their asses (one-by-one, since I'm not a hero).

edit: I'm not putting down mushroom-eaters, I'm putting down asshole freaks.

Yea, LOL!!!

'Detectives said consumers should treat with caution any juice labelled as aloe vera which is not purple...'

Aloe vera juice from where I am, is almost transculent.. Purple carrot the detectives meant to say?

Hahaha....

^link to that? That's some crazy shit if it's true

The closest thing I could find was a police report referencing a rave out at [...]

I heard the original story by word of mouth. There has to be some truth to it since nobody around here knows what ketamine is, and there have been other raves out there in the past. I just don't think anyone actually called the cops over the tainted drinking water, but the whole ordeal did drive a friend away from that place.

^lol I dunno man, I'm gonna have to call EXTREME bullshit on that rumor =p I'm sure you really heard it, not calling you a liar, but you spoke to a long chain of them I believe haha it just doesn't sound possible by any stretch of the mind

and btw, WHO THE HELL WOULD DRINK AN ALOE VERA CONCOCTION?!?!

I saw an episode of that 'bizarre foods' where the chubby bald dude TRIED to slam some aloe juice and that shit wasn't even happening for HIS iron stomach lol

Agreed.

On an unrelated note- "Anyone want to buy my shirt? I'll sell you my shirt for a grilled cheese" =D

That is pretty fucked up, if you were drug naive and consumed K nwillingly I don't imagine it would be pleasant. On the other hand I would not complain if served a ketamine laced drink.

This is fucked up. That's why you always make sure the bottle is sealed. Unless whoever made it has some bottle making facility.
Why would people waste drugs like this? Doesn't make sense.
