How do benzos compare to other GABAergic drugs?

especially with soma oxycodone and xanax and a beer to wash it all down%)

hahaha funny you mention this, I used to call the combo of a muscle relaxer + benzo + opiate a Vegas Cocktail. I enjoy this triple down combo a lot <3.

OP: I have never gotten any euphoria from high doses 30+mgs of ambien, just a dysphoric (i cant spell) trippy sensation that makes me feel all lose and goofy. I'd take benzos over Z meds anytime.

Kind of off topic, but:

I find the combination of Bupropion (Wellbutrin XL) and Alprazolam (Xanax) to actually be euphoric.

Wellbutrin is actaully a great drug to combine with other Rx drugs. It goes great with both Xanax and even better with Ritalin...we used to crush ritalin and buproprion and rail em..would feel almost exactly like some good blow...weird ehh?

^i personally would not do it, but what from what i have heard, snorting Wellbutrin is not completely pointless.

to answer the op, i would say, from most recreational to least recreational: benzos, soma, ambien. i've never tried GHB or barbs.

IMO 10yr experience with Soma, i loved it when i first tried it at age 14, at high doses, it causes tremors very harsh, tolerance builds fast, very euphoric, comparable to being very drunk without the "emotional mind fuck" alcohol may give, it got to the point i took too much one time, i was found on the ground foaming from the mouth...rushed to hospital...next time i took some, i was buzzing good, all of a sudden at school all i remember is being dragged out of the cafeteria by teachers and my parents picked me up to the doctors, ithink i had a drug induced seizure. 10yrs later, i tried it again, the effects just made me depressed, soma is gross to me.

I find that zolpidem tartrate gives a more satisfying sleep than benzo's, it lowers inhibitions greatly if you stay awake but is not good for anxiety because the inhibitions are generally lowered to the extreme. Can cause visuals. Overall a less useful and less recreational drug than benzodiazepines are in my opinion, but it is probably a more effective sleep-aid than any benzo I have used.

1.4B (converts to GHB) gives a much more pronounced body buzz and I would definately say it causes a feeling closer to euphoria than benzo's do. Due to it's short duration it is less than ideal as a sleep aid or for anxiety relief than benzodiazepines. To use on it's own for pure recreation it is probably superior to benzo's being used in the same context.

and benzos? soma? or have you not tried those? because lyrica second is an interesting preference.

Never tried Soma, but I just got clean for a 5 year benzo habit. I would definately put benzo's ahead of Alcohol on this list, but I'd probably have to say that Lyrica is more euphoric than benzo's, but benzo's give me more anxiolytic relief. To me, my fav benzo was probably Bromazepam or Clonazepam.

i find both meprobamate and carisprodol very enjoyable, maybe more so than benzos or at least as good... havn't tried lyrica or gabapentin, but from what i've read, they don't have much on benzos or soma, meprobamate

as for booze, i used to love it, now i find it enjoyable to get tipsy drunk once in a while...

I would choose some Soma over benzodiazepines any day. My addiction and tolerance may have something to do with why I'd choose Soma because benzos don't really do anything to me anymore. Regardless, I love Soma...especially for its great muscle relaxant effects.

And as for Lyrica, I will try and state this one last time so that people don't continue to believe that Lyrica is a GABA drug:

Pregabalin is an alpha-2-delta ligand similar to GABA, but it *DOES NOT ACT* on GABA receptors. Rather, it binds with high affinity to the alpha-2-delta subunit of calcium channels, resulting in reduction of calcium flow through the channels, which inhibits the release of glutamate, norepinephrine, and substance P

i have just as bad an addiction to meprobamate (hence more or less carisprodol) as i do to benzos, so i put them on a more or less even level
