here's a bit of fluff for the wordsmiths: i write like

you paste in some of your writing and the site analyzes your word choice and writing style and compares them with those of the famous writers.

i tried 3 different pieces and got: william gibson; dan brown and chuck palahniuk

who do you write like?

It's an interesting one. I got James Joyce once & a few other randoms.
Not quite sure it's overly accurate.

"Your life totally sucks. I really fucking hope that you die. This is what I was thinking when I walked into his house. Fuck, Mr. Morris was a filthy old pervert. Every time it is my assigned day to take care of him, he shits all over himself and then masturbates with the fecal matter."

This got me "You write like David Foster Wallace."

i seem to get h.g. wells pretty consistently. it's an honour because i'd like to be a sci-fi writer of his calibre. i don't find the writers of contemporary "hard" sci-fi to be as talented as the victorian-era scientific romance writers.

Thanks

I miss writing, I haven't written anything in ages. I can't seem to do it anymore.

writing is nothing more than the conveyance of experience. art always suffers when the artist isn't experiencing life at the rate it was being experienced when the first spark of inspiration became a fire of creativity.

Oh god! I love it.

ok...I punt in some of my writing and it told me I write like Ernest Hemingway, so I google his work and pasted some of his shit on the site. Told me Ernest Heningway writes like James Joyce.

I wrote this:
The penis of a capybara is motile and trifurcate (like a pitchfork), because of the female’s challenging anatomy. Zoologists have compared these hog-sized rodents’ fornications to the Assyrian vision of heaven.

And it gave me this:

David Foster Wallace

???

I pasted in some poems from the past few years and the result that came up most was Nabokov, of whom I haven't read much at all. Joyce and Poe also popped up, but I claim them as influences so I'm not too surprised.
