An elderly American woman was left stunned when she received a bag of cannabis in the post.

The unnamed lady, from Blackman Township, in southern Michigan, opened her mail to discover two pounds of the illegal drug in a package.

She didn't know who had sent the drugs and immediately telephoned police to tell them about the mailed marijuana.

Detectives decided to check out the return address in Arizona on the package only to discover it was fake.

Investigating officers believe the pot was sent to the wrong address or that someone intended to steal it from the woman's mailbox before she got to it.

The marijuana, which has a street value of around $2,400 will be destroyed.
 
I would scream like a 13 year old girl at a Justin Bieber concert if I got a package like that in the mail
 
Well, there are a few problems:
1. If the package was intended to be stolen from you mailbox and you take it you might run into a little trouble with the wrong people. (although with weed this might not be that big of an issue)
2. Fucking cops are trying to frame you.

All in all it would make me paranoid ass hell. Since 2 isn't really an option where I live I'd still take it and see who tries to claim it.

society needs to get a healthy and clear headed attitude towards drugs or we're just going to remain in a state of unjustified and sociologically destructive panic

if you hate drugs that much, there's something called a toilet, and there are other options as well, like trash cans, dumpsters, and clothes/rope making :). yeah most cops will stereotype the grannie as a non pot smoker and she's probably fine. but she made such a gamble calling the police...

I was actually going to post both those situations because I realized that's what I would think after my yells of excitement stopped.

However, I then came to the conclusion that I would still end up keeping it because fuck it, when would this ever happen again?

2 pounds? If it was good, I'd just call up 2 or 3 people front them a few zips or a quarter pound, leave town with the weed and go on a fun ass trip that will be covered by the money that I'd get when I got back to town. Wow...it would be so much fun, I get a warm fuzzy feeling just thinking about it. :)

They should elaborate on their destruction methods. I mean, I destroy my weed too. In a bowl. With a flame directed at it. With my lungs ready to dispose of the vapors.

I've seen videos of plantations being destroyed after they get busted. They just throw it all in a big pile and set fire to it. I figure it's like the cops' reward, getting high as fuck %)
 
Give me a couple of years and I'll burn it myself. By the way, she was lucky to avoid a tasering by the cops. Calling the police can be hazardous to your health.

I remember seeing an article in here a few years ago about them setting a large seizure of marijuana on fire. They were worried about people finding out about it and coming nearby to sniff the air, so they added human hair into the fire to give the smoke a terrible smell.
