Hi I am going to the doc for anxiety, I actually have it really bad, but I'm wondering whats the best way to word it, so I can get the stronger/better meds that are also decent for recreational use as well. Xanax maybe? not too sure what the best is, Does anyone have a good idea on how I can word my anxiety that doesn't make me sound depressed/desperate but shows that I need something really strong? I could probably just explain it honestly and get something strong but was just curious if anyone had any other techniques.

Can't tell you how to score drugs.... But if you have a legit problem and you get benzos... Your anxiety/panic will be worse if you abuse them.

^^ This.

Be honest with your Dr. but if you have actual anxiety issues, drug abuse will only make it 100x worse. That being said, benzos may be effective for you, but only if you use them as directed.

If you have anxiety, just tell your doctor about the symptoms you're having. Whatever you do, DON'T ask for a particular drug (you mentioned wanting Xanax). That'll look like drug seeking. Let your doctor decide which drug is best for you... that's their job.

sounds like you just want to score some good pills for recreational use rather than help your anxiety. if you were actually concerned about your anxiety problem then you should just be honest with the Dr. and tell them the things you are going through and they will decide what the best medication is for you. theres no point trying to ask us what you can say in order to help you score

Let me just say this so you never have to go through what I am........do not get on a benzo. They always turn on you and if you abuse them it will cause you hell.

I am currently trying to wean off of Klonopin and opiate wd is a day at the park compared to this nightmare. It is the most inhumane wd a person can imagine.

It also is not over in 2 weeks like opiates, it is years of tapering if you wanna get off with any sanity. Benzo wd will take your marriage, your job, your friends, it takes your life.

If you have real anxiety ask for Atarax, an ancient anti-histamine that is even safe for babies. It works as good as xanax for killing anxiety but with no dependency issues.......

Hope all works well,
ben

^ Benzos can be great when used short-term. But yeah, long-term benzo use is definitely a no-no. I was on clonazepam (Klonopin) daily for 7 years, and I'm now slowly tapering down with diazepam. Benzo withdrawals are among the worst withdrawals you'll ever experience - heroin withdrawals make you very sick; benzo withdrawals can actually kill you.

You are just trying to score benzos (Xanax apparently) buddy. 8)
And Bluelight isn't as place to tell you how to bullshit your doctor.
If you actually have anxiety, be honnest to your doc (don't try to make your symptomes look worse than they are, doctors are good at spoting people who are just trying to get a benzo script) and let him decide.

I second that. You really don't want to become addicted to benzos. There is also plenty of legal plants that work quite well for mild anxiety, especially if you mix them (Valériane, Passiflore, Kava, Aubépine...).
Many people have had success with Atarax.
Tricyclique AD's can also help with general anxiety, and are not as addictive as benzos (but it will take a couple of weeks before you can feel the effects).

Yep, that about sums it up.

And....for the record...I would really rethink this whole thing...try to find other solutions first. Benzos make you lethargic and can make you feel depressed...and you can become addicted to them in a matter of weeks. Withdrawl is hell. I was on xanax for the past 8 months and tried to go off it...within 24 hours I was sick as hell, emotionally I was having horrible anxiety and crying spells...and my body, oh god...terrible never ending headaches and nausea and dizziness. I'm trying to taper down the dosage, but still feel like hell almost all the time.

I started out like you. I did have anxiety to a certain degree, but I wanted something I could potentially use for fun...so I was able to get her to give me xanax.

I highly regret that decision. That stuff is evil. Sooo not worth it.

As others have said...the rebound anxiety you will get from abusing benzos will make your initial anxiety look like NOTHING. Seriously, think long and hard before thinking about using benzos recreationally. If you DO get them for legit anxiety, take them exactly as prescribed. You'll be thankful you heeded our advice, trust me.

Do you even really have anxiety issues? I mean, any worse than the average person does, everybody experiences anxiety. Its when you begin to experience it daily and it disrupts your ability to function (generalized), when you start to experience problems where you begin to panic and forget how to breathe, feel insane and nearly forget where you are (panic disorder), when it becomes so bad that you can't function around people and it prevents you from doing things in society that you would like to do (social anxiety disorder) ...is when it becomes a problem. There are an array of other anxiety disorders that make your life hell as well.

If you don't have any of these problems and make something up, the doctor will recognize it. He may even diagnose you with something else.

First line treatment for anxiety: "When medication is indicated SSRIs, such as fluoxetine (Prozac), sertraline (Zoloft), paroxetine (Paxil) and escitalopram (Lexapro) are generally recommended as first line agents. SNRIs such as venlafaxine (Effexor) are also effective."

SECOND line treatment: "Benzodiazepines, such as alprazolam (Xanax), clonazepam (Klonopin) and diazepam (Valium) are also sometimes indicated for short-term or PRN use. They are usually considered as a second line treatment due to disadvantages such as cognitive impairment and due to their risks of dependence and withdrawal problems."

These days, if you go to a psychiatrist for an anxiety disorder, they will almost always prescribe you an anti-depressant. It isn't uncommon though that they may prescribe a low dose benzodiazepine with it for about a month until the anti-depressant kicks in. I have high doubts that you'll ever be prescribed benzodiazepines for long-term. That will make your life hell anyway. I'm currently tapering from 10 years on them.
