So people on these forums, bluelight and other drug related forums always going on about benzos being great etc. and valium being recreational etc....

I got hold of 58 2mg valiums and have eaten them all over the last 3 days trying to get some sort of decent effect from them... tried combining with beer and also codeine.... all I have found they do is block the effects of codeine and beer and have no recreational body buzz or anything.

Definately noticed I am calmer and find socialising slightly more enjoyable but other than that literally nothing at all... I think I actually felt better before taking any....

I just find it funny how people say the withdrawl is worse than heroin etc. but tbh they have extremely subtle effects and I wouldnt say they were euphoric in the slightest.... I definately will not be taking them on a long term basis and risking the apparently horrible withdrawl syndrome because tbh they dont do much at all!

(I have also had lorazepam and tamazepam in the past)

Benzos aren't really something you can get high off of in the terms of most other drugs. If you're in a really bad mood, or very stressed, then the effects may be perceived as euphoric. However, if you're taking them just to get high you aren't going to notice very much. There are numerous other discussions about benzos on here, and more or less the consensus is that the level of enjoyability simply varies by individual.

That being said, please use caution mixing benzos with opiates or booze. It's a very dangerous combination unless you have a fairly high tolerance to both. Otherwise it can cause respiratory depression meaning you could stop breathing.

Benzos are highly addictive and the withdrawals are a bitch, so if you aren't even enjoying them at all, don't bother mixing them with other things to try and achieve a high of some sort. No need to play with fire if you aren't even getting anything out of it.

Benzodiazepines aren't recreational drugs. If your looking for a drug to get high from or experience a rush, don't expect that benzos will. At high doses they may make you stagger around, become drowsy, sedated and possibly black out. I guess some people enjoy that. At prescribed or moderate doses they will simply relax you, calm you down, relieve you of anxiety and possibly make you tired. Those effects increase as the dose increases, unless you go too high than you experience what I first mentioned. Some people experience euphoria, I don't

I rate benzodiazepines upon how well they relax me and relieve my anxiety. Ultimately they are prescribed for anxiety, panic attacks, to produce sleep, used as anti-convulsants and some to induce amnesia.

Many people do find them recreational when combined with other drugs though, such as marijuana, opiates and other CNS depressants. They are also useful for stimulant comedowns.

i love benzos!! im trying to figure out what people love so much about oxy's/opiates and such. have tried them maybe 5-6 times but aren't recreational at all. to each his own

They most definitely are! Benzos are one of the few drugs that can actually kill you if you're dependent on them and stop cold turkey. Heroin withdrawals just make you horribly sick.

Yeah a benzo habit is no joke. I've seized out twice in my life from abrupt cessation of benzodiazepines. Not to mention CT benzo withdrawl after long periods of time even without seizures produces horrible rebound anxiety the shakes and insomnia.

Heroin withdrawl makes you wish you were dead, benzo withdrawl might accually do it.

I've been on benzodiazepines for ten years and have completely tapered off them twice. I went 6 months once and 1 year another. Each time I relapsed because the withdrawals never seem to end. They become milder but are still annoying and hurt. Right now I'm trying again. From 10mg Clonazepam to 1mg in a one year period and I still have four months to go, easing down 0.25mg each month. Each time I go down a dose I feel real bad withdrawals. Its like a rollercoaster, the entire time on benzos, I'll go up and then down. Never settled.

I think the trick to avoiding withdrawals is to not use them a lot.
I used benzos for about 4 months (I was using everyday in moderately high doses). I was using Lorazepam and Temazepam and when I quit cold turkey after 4 months use I got no withdrawals whatsoever. I'm on week 2 and I still haven't experienced any withdrawals. The only thing I felt was slight joint pain (VERY slight) on day 3, but it subsided right after about 6 hours.

They make 2mg Valium?

Yep. And you would probably have to blow your GP to get a script for even that dose if you live in the UK.

Has to be the worst country in Europe to get a decent script.

Except for anti-depressants....they love scripting those for some reason. Money perhaps...

How long after stopping benzos do withdrawl effects kick in?

Depends on the severity of your addiction. If you are in deep you can't safely do it alone.

If you've just been dabbling with online meds and used em recreationally, even dangerously but for a short period of time, you may not get anything worse than feeling totally shite & not being to get a wink of sleep when you need it....insomnia backlash big time.

Try & taper, diazepam all day

I think that most of the people that enjoy benzos recreationally have some anxiety even if they don't know it, so if your happy being you and don't have any weird thoughts the difference won't be noticeable as opposed to a person with anxiety, such as myself, the calming feeling is felt way more and thoroughly enjoyed.

There is one way to have fun but depends on if you don't mind not remembering anything cuz you won't haha. If you have xanax or kpins take like 3mgs or about 25mgs of valium with 3 shots and six beers and you will have a CRAZY night. Be careful though

25 mg Diazepam, 3 shots and 6 beers? Are you trying to kill someone?
I would advise NOT trying this. If you must, start with ONE shot (and no beers) and try two shots a different night if you feel that it wasn't enough.

I've never found them all that recreational either. A low dose goes well combined with opiates, and they're great for stimulant comedowns, but by themselves they're nothing special.

Exactly what Crank says. I like E and Glass, and xanax is great for the back side of both of those. I mean GREAT as in almost a lifesaver.

Yup, coke too if you're into that. Or if your just having a stressed out day. Or a bad acid trip. Or a weekend in jail, took eight zanny bars in with me, they had to wake me up and tell me it was time to leave.

While I do agree too much diazepam can overpower the effects of codeine I have no idea what the fuck you are talking about when you say it "blocks the effects of alcohol" as it is pretty hard to find two drugs that potentiate each other more greatly than benzo's and alcohol do.

Benzo's don't really provide a body buzz, what they do provide is a lowering of inhibitions/anxiety, muscle relaxation and sedation. Whether that is your cup of tea or not is entirely subjective, from my observations and experience it seems those prone to anxiety tend to find benzo's the most recreational.

You should probably realise there isn't a weaker benzo tablet out there than 2mg diazepam (that I am aware of) and they really are not the most abusable tablets. 58 is enough to make up a decent dose though, I guess you just don't appreciate the subtleties of benzo's. You might have more luck with shorter acting benzodiazepines, although valium tends to be my favourite recreationally many gravitate to stronger ones like alprazolam and clonazepam.

Also you are wrong to think there is any real connection between how recreational or euphoric a drug is and how bad physical withdrawals are. Obviously a more euphoric drug will be more addictive MENTALLY. Physical addiction is completely different and occurs when your body becomes dependent on the presence of a specific drug to function/not go into withdrawals. There are entirely non recreational drugs that will cause physical withdrawals just like there are highly addictive ones like methamphetamine where it is basically all mental. Honestly I don't see people suffering withdrawals as "funny" at all, whether they are withdrawing from recreational or non recreational drugs. :p

Benzos will make you think you are not fucked but trust me, you will be. Diazepam has a special way to make you do things you would not do in normal circumstances yet you will be thinking of doing them as normal.

Diazepam also has an extremely long half-life due to its lipophilic properties and chances are you will be doing stupid things in the next days. You have taken over 100mgs in 3 days so the diazepam is still plentiful in your system. I once took 100mgs by mistake and cannot remember the next 3 days, and I did some extremely courageous things which could have ended disastrously.

Mm heres and example for you....

After reading threads of people saying they have a great time on benzos etc. I got a script for 58 2mg benzos 2 days ago and they are now all gone.

Yesterday I had about 30 2mg valiums, 200mg codeine and about 5 beers.... I stumbled around the house for a while, woke upwith a few chips and dents out of some of the surfaces in my house and also woke up at 4 am and was violently sick and it felt like i was sh***ng acid or something.

So overall my experience with benzos is that they are not recreational at all, maybe good if you have extreme enxiety but definately not something I will be trying again. Stumbling arund doing stupid things then being violantly sick and feeling like shit the next day is not my idea of recreation thx!

(yes i am aware those dosages are not clever but after 50mg of valium your sense of reason sort of dissapears :/ )
