BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — A judge sentenced Lindsay Lohan on Tuesday to 90 days in jail and an inpatient rehab program after finding the actress had violated her probation in a 2007 drug case by failing to attend alcohol education classes.

The actress burst into tears after the ruling.

Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel issued the sentence after listening to testimony from employees of an alcohol treatment program that Lohan had been ordered to attend.

Lohan missed seven classes since December, which led to the judge's harsh rebuke moments after the "Mean Girls" star offered a tearful apology.

"I did do everything I was told to do and did the best I could to balance jobs and showing up," Lohan told the judge. "It wasn't vacation, it wasn't some sort of a joke."

Revel said she found Lohan's apology insincere, comparing it to "somebody who cheats and thinks it isn't cheating if she doesn't get caught."

Lohan was not immediately taken into custody and will be permitted to surrender on July 20. She will have to wear an ankle alcohol monitor until then.

Los Angeles County district attorney spokeswoman Jane Robison said it was not uncommon for judges to allow defendants to turn themselves in at a later date so they can get their affairs in order.

The sentence tripled the monthlong jail sentence prosecutors had sought for Lohan.

she has 5 prescriptions, one of which is hydromorphone, another med for ADD, that she can take while in jail. she was sentenced 4 days last time but was only in 89m. she insists the "fuck you" on her fingernail on her middle finger wasn't directed at the judge (no reason not to believe her). and both her parents feel that this is much too harsh and unfair for their child
 
She was so fucking attractive in mean girls....gah. If it wasn't for the DUI i'd have sympathy for her. How much do you think a camera phone recording by the guards at intake of her strip (cavity if she's real unlucky) search would sell for?

I guess she won't be having a going away party then. That sucks for her, judge just pretty much added on 2 weeks of not being able to drink.

The news just said she was on hydromorphone for recent wisdom tooth surgery. 8o

Why would she even need add meds in jail? I bet that she will have the cleanest cell in the whole jail!

There seems to be laws for celebrities and laws for the rest of us.

So like most people here i think that the drug laws are stupid to say the least.
But if she have to serve the entire punishment it's something good because it show us that we are equal in society.

But lets face it, she wont have the normal prison experience and she will get out really fast.

It is but it's fucking probation, you do what you are told or get violated. I had to live through 4 years of it and managed to do it without a single violation, it really isn't that difficult. You do what the fuck you have to do to finish it, don't be an idiot and follow through with your requirements, don't be an idiot and argue with your PO. If you want to fuck around then you go to jail.

When you are on probation, your only missions in life is to do what you are required to do and get through probation without getting locked up. Your PO and judge do not give a fuck how unfair it may seem.

Violated for missing meetings though, extreme if you ask me. I was also on probation two separate times for years. The first run I was a straight up dope fiend and pissed dirty god knows how many times, never violated. I did pick up a couple violations through new cases and my lawyer beat them and had the violations thrown out. Some counties here [Chicago] violate you soon as your arrested and some violate you once convicted.

Point being is I was given SOOO much slack. These were all drug charges, no violence, no real crime. Its fuct to throw somebody in jail for 90 days because they missed a few meetings and than order them into rehab for a DUI. Probation always seems to bend IME and that is the way it is supposed to be. Certainly for drugs/booze.

Now drug court might be a better option for those troubled with addictions and when you violate, you go to rehab. I am kinda torn on drug courts though. They are run like a dictatorship and filled with backstabbing and ill regard but that is what some people need I guess? Point is no one thing works for everybody. Everybody is different and we must have options not some cookie cutter mold. People usually make mistakes when they are getting some form of treatment that does not mean they should be thrown in jail. Mistakes are part of getting better, tough court love is not.

I thought her fuck U writing on her nails was spot on. Fight the power. The judicial system is beyond skewed.

have we all forgot what this is all about she had 3 DUI all with cherries on top ie lying about driving initally on 3 occasions plus the high speed of 80mph then the coke the not turning up at court wasnt it pissing around at canne film festival oh parading down the run way at paris fashion week as new designer at a crap french fashion house i think the judge had it right she found her very unconvincing as i do im no angel myself and have done time maybe she should man up and just get on with her punishment like i say gd behaviour out in 25 days piss all

especially when the incident was in '07, and she said she made up the meetings but had work. though both the judge and her sounded reasonable (she was a little less eloquent cuz she was crying her eyes out)

iirc (my memory is horrible right now so maybe not) she said she did start going to the meetings

(earlier session misses, but not lately? i assume the court misses were also earlier? there's a good chance she grew up some if so)

the young turks get pretty hard on the girl lol. you can tell the guy (not cenk, he was hosting ratigan's show on msnbc! ) doesn't use drugs... "opiates? what is this the 19th century, who uses opiates anymore?" or maybe he's one of those potheads that choose to only use pot and not learn anything about other drugs

you face up to 5 years in jail, automatically, for gettin caught driving without a license.

This lil skank got money out the ass to hire drivers and whoever the fuck she needs to, but she continues to do watever the fuck she want becuz she thinks shes a lil princess and can just do anything she feels like.

The sentence that any one of us woulda got for the same shit woulda been way more severe.

If you read the more indepth description of the shit she did wrong, it was not NA meetings or somethin that she missed.

SHE GOT OFF LIGHT AS HELL the first time and all her dumb ass had to do was to do these alcohol classes. It wasnt meetings like, NA or counseling meetings, it was more like when you gotta do IOP and go to the rehab meetings X times a week, etc. this was alcohol outpatient rehab meetings pretty much, and there aint no fuckin reason this bitch couldnt of showed up for them. In between working? Wat work? The bitch aint been in no movies in I dont even know how long. Missing SEVEN meetings IS a lot when ALL YOU GOTTA DO, IS GO TO THEM!! She coulda went to jail last time for a actual jail sentence, she COULDA lost her license even longer and got the suspension extended, she coulda got forced to 9 months of daily IOP or shit like that, shit that woulda happened to any one of US if we had pulled the same crap, but she gets off and all her spoiled rotten lil ass had to do was go to these IDRC classes and she skipped SEVEN of them? Bullshit! that aint one or two, that is seven classes, and when all she had to do, to comply, was go to them, there aint no goddamn excuse for skippin them.

Let me tell you somethin yo, if me, or you, or whoever that aint famous and rich, had lost our license. And say our mom has to drive us to these classes, and she been sick for years and on the day of our class, she had to go to the hospital and couldnt bring us to the class, you know wat would happen? The judge would say "it is YOUR responsibility to get to these classes, regardless of if your ride cant take you, you got to make arrangements to get another ride, take the bus, call a cab, watever you gotta do, becuz goin to these classes is your job right now." And we woulda got violated if it happened again, or maybe even violated JUST for missin it once, if the judge was a hardass. shit like that happens ALL THE TIME to regular-ass people like you or me, who got hardships in their life and is struggling to be able to get by without a license and still comply with all the probation requirements.

I cant think of one legitimate goddamn reason she coulda had to miss a class, considerin she got enough money to get wherever she need to go, whenever she need to get there, and she didnt seem to have no problem bein off in some jet flyin around the world to parties every other week, violating probation by drinking and blatantly doin it in public so that people can see and take pictures of it and shit like that. she didnt even TRY yo.....She made a sorry-ass attempt at LOOKIN LIKE she gave half a shit, and assumed that she could just get the special treatment again and not have to serve no type of actual punishment for the shit she continued to do over and over.

You know wat my PO told me was gonna happen to me when I almost violated? I was goin to jail ON THE SPOT, directly from the probation office, where i would stay til my court date, when they would revoke the plea deal they had gaveme and i would have to face sentencing on my 3rd strike, and not only that but ADDITIONAL jailtime for the VOP, AND lose my license for a min. of 24 mos.

and she REPEATEDLY violated her shit and only gettin 90 days? Bitch PLEASE....God damn, i bet any one of us who been on probation and has violated or almost violated, would give anything to know that all we would get hit with is a 90 day sentence and be done with it, shiiit.

Also, she never even bothered to call the classes she was suppose to go to, and say she couldnt come. She didnt offer no documentation or proof of why she did not go to the classes on any one of those 7 times she missed. didnt give paperwork showing that she had been working, or that she had been in the hospital or some shit, or that she had some kind of obligation that she COULD NOT avoid, that made her not be able to go to the classes. She just said she had "tried" to go, and sometimes she couldnt make it. No proof, no explanation other than that. And let me tell you , when you on probation and you get sentenced to do some shit like that, YOU DO NOT MISS IT. You tell your job that you got to take off that day. You tell your school that you cant come to class that day. You make gettin to that class or meeting your FIRST PRIORITY, becuz it IS the most important thing you have to do that day, that trumps everything else except a medical emergency or some shit, and aint no way that bitch had 7 medical emergencies that all happened to be on the day of her alcohol classes.

Seriously, shit like this makes me sick as hell. There is people out there who is gettin punished ten times harder for less serious crimes, who miss probation cuz they couldnt report becuz their car broke down and the probation office was a hour and a half away from their home, and they couldnt get there becuz they broke as fuck and couldnt hire a cab, and got a real, legitimate reason for not showing up and their PO violate them becuz he is a big old dick. There is people who get sentenced to go to a program that is a hour away, and their license got suspended and they cant get to the program and the judge says well bet your ass you better find a way to get there becuz if you dont you are in trouble, so best start lookin for a ride now. There aint no leniency for so many of us when we have REAL problems givin us trouble makin it hard to comply with the shit we ordered to do, and this little princess-ass cunt is up there in the defendant box cryin about she dont deserve this, when she got every goddamn advantage in the fuckin WORLD to make it FAR easier than it should be for her to comply, and she DIDNT.

And goin into court with your nails painted to say "FUCK YOU" Is the most juvenile-ass, petty, baby-ass little childish fuckin thing i can think of. You just dont fucking DO that shit when you go to court. is she RETARDED?? Seriously, this girl is CLEARLY, CLEARLY, SO removed from reality that she honestly seems to believe that she is in a total class of her own and deserves special treatment, she really seems to feel that way. The bitch is a narcissist or some shit, Im tellin you, becuz she got the ways and the means to already have had this shit done and behind her, and she just kept on doin wat she wanted to do like the rules aint apply to her, thinkin that she would get away with it.

She deserves every second of that 90 day sentence, considerin that last tiem she got out after 84 HOURS locked up. Bitch really needs to get wats comin to her, becuz it aint fair to all those of us who is really struggling and tryin our hardest to succeed at probation and parole, etc, and are barely gettin by, knowing that if we make one mis step the hammer of jailtime and a million other penalties is gonna come down on us, while meanwhile bitches like this just parade their stupid asses around openly breakin every single rule that the judge gave them as a condition of their plea, and think that they deserve to get away with everything.

no mention of her alcohol monitoring anklet going off multiple times because" some was spilled alcohol on it ", and, a bribe hah, will she still open a drug and alcohol rehab of her own, now that she has been prosecuted?

if all this does follow through, she just may wise up, stay rich, and get some sort of positive or neutral reputation in a few years.

lol i cant believe ' dr drew' thinks she shouldnt be in jail/rehab, and he should be helping her himself.
