I know they are anti-histamine, but are they any decent for anxiety? Someone I know has them prescribed for that reason and I am wondering how well it works in that regard. I'm not expecting much, but I want to know if they would help take the edge off a bit. So, anyone have any experience with them?

Hydroxyzine is used in the treatment of pain; anxiety; nausea/vomiting; sedation; pruritus (and more), and belongs to the drug classes antihistamines, miscellaneous anxiolytics, sedatives and hypnotics.

I'm not to familiar with them but from my experience they do help.
When I was going through opiate withdrawals I took a few & found they helped a bit with RLS & with the anxiety I was feeling as well.
That was the only time I had any of them but I found them to at least take the edge off.

Yeah that's what I plan on using it for, on the days my suboxone is being iffy and my anxiety is through the roof. Thanks.
 
Hydroxyzine didn't help my anxiety whatsoever while I was on it.
Everything effects everyone differently though, you will have to try it for yourself to know if it helps or not.
 
^it's very sedating (like taking 50-100 mg of diphenhydramine with no tolerance to antihistamines)
 
^^ i didn't find it sedating at all really, i used it mostly as an opiate potentiator using up to 400mg..; but even then my stomache would feel a bit weird.. so i toned it down to 300mg and that was fine, i did by mistake once take 600mg and had a really bad stomache ache
