Opioids Coming off Opiates and Wellbutrin

I'm about 3 weeks clean off opiates and i'm about 3 weeks on wellbutrin. I go back to the doc on Monday and I know you guys aren't doctors but there's at least one RN here and a bunch of people that know what they're talking about so help me out.

This shit has me feeling like I'm on SPEED. My heart is racing and I can't sleep. I've tried weed I've tried my doctor prescribed Visteral (shitty sleep med) I've tried 5mg ambien. I can't fucking sleep and this is not normal for me and I've been through withdrawals before and I'm over them physically but I've never been on this Wellbutrin or any other anti-depressant for that matter.

I don't know if I should keep taking it or stop. Help me out?
 
There are a number of people who snort welbutrin to get coke like effects so your complaint is understandable. I am on 300 mg and have been on it for over a year and I have gotten used to it. I am currently withdrawing from benzos and i can feel that it may be aggravating it a little but I have gotten pretty used to it. I can now take an extended release welbutrin before bedtime and sleep. Your body will grow accostumed to the med. Good luck, It has been the only medication to EVER help me with my depression so it is a good med. But honestly if you aren't depressed then asxk your doctor about geetting off, no point in being on drugs when you don't need to be.
 
I'm not depressed. The doc just said it helps with addiction and anxiety. Wellbutrin just makes me feel like I need a xanax... and it kind of bloats my ego so I need some LSD for that lol.

All I've taken for the past 2 days though is my dr. perscribed wellbutrin... actually I skipped one day and slept all day then I woke up, took it and was all speedy again.

I feel like I'm on speed. I've never even done meth and don't like stimulants.

Oh and I'm also on 300mg XL. 150mg for the first 3 days, now 300mg... so been on this dose about 3 weeks. I guess I was just wondering if the side effects went away with time. I feel like it's just now peaking. Like the doc said it takes about 3 or 4 weeks for the desired effects... I have some desired effects and some undesired effects I guess. I dunno I'm off opiates and that's good.
 
Yeah I guess just stick with it but it helps more with cocaine addiction cause of the speedy effects. IDK why you would need welbutrin to make you not want opiates. Maybe it is just the act of taking a pill that will help lol. Lyrica would help you not want opiates but it can have withdrawal if you stop abruptly. My doc says that if you taper slowly the withdrawal is very minimal. IDK why you need welbutrin to be honest if you can Id just take nothing. It is nice not relying on pills, havent been able to do that in years.
 
I haven't been able to say that in about a year myself. Daily IV dilauidid use then suboxone maintaince now this and some psychedelics but I honsestly feel like the psychs center me whereas the Wellbutrin sends me all over the place mentally.

Maybe Wellbutrin + LSD is the opiate cure lol. Plus some meetings. I got out of rehab like a month ago, relapsed on fucking loratabs of all things, and that was enough to give me panic attacks for a week, for which I got scripted valium but I've never had a benzo tollerance/addiction so that's not it.
 
Psychedelics can really help with addiction. One really good lsd trip can cure you of your addiction. It really helped me with my depression. The benzos sent me backwards but I've leaarned much from psychedelics.
 
^Absolutely. I hadn't taken LSD in over two years, and took some this past week while my girlfriend was out of town. Amazing time, and I feel so refreshed, like myself again.%)
 
Fuck Wellbutrin. I went to my old suboxone doctor today who's also a psychiatrist and he took me off that shit my regular doctor had me on. Now I'm down to Vistiril for sleep and that's it :)

He said I really don't need it and it's the opposite of what I need for anxiety, which is another issue all together. I just hope my head gets back to normal. Fuck anti-depressants. I guess unless you're seriously depressed like can't get out of bed and shit then go for it but this shit is like a poor man speed... and I've never done legit speed but it felt like I took an adderall that took 3 weeks to kick all the way in and then did nothing for me except cause anxiety and insomnia.

Haven't taken any today so... how long does it take to get out of your system? I was on it for 3 weeks... now I'm just stopping it. My body physically can't take it any more. My heart was beating out of my chest.
 
Be careful using psychedelics for treatment or anything, make sure you are in the right headspace before hand and I'd definitely recommend having a good friend with you who you can talk to about the experience.
 
I know we are a bit off topic here, but that is a good point Mr Blonde made. It might not be the best idea for an addict in distress to turn to a potent hallucinogen such as LSD for answers or some optimistically idealized "cure." Especially in the case that that person was inexperienced with psychedelics, I would say this might be something to avoid, personally.

I will say that what one takes in and subsequently takes away from some of these experiences can be very powerful and have a profound effect on the user, long after the trip itself is over.

are you serious??? really because i have to kick my opiate habit. and my boy just came off 300mg a day oxy and is taking subs. they recommended wellbutrin and gave him a rx for 300 mg but he is afraid to fill it. dr said he depressed. uh yeah cuz he was sick every 4 fucking hrs if he didnt do a pill, that would depress anyone. he is ok now but i gotta do it soon or at least cut back. found out its illegal to get rx off more than one dr so i gotta cut it back to one. id rather just quit but last time i tried subs i thought i was going to die i was so so so sick for 3 days before the subs kicked in and i was doing 4 -5 8mg a day. my boy went thru same thing last week. took a whole 8 mg 12 hrs after last oxy dose and thot was going to die. did 5 8mg for like 4 days. it took 2 days of hard withs before he started feeling better. uh i am not trying to do it like that so any info would help. id think your joking on the lsd cure. becuase if it really worked that way hey im tripping tonight. hahah.. be driving down to summer hookah in ohio to the fest if i gotta cuz lord knows you aint finding that shit where i live
