Ativan dosing..Rookie

Hey guys I am prescribed Ativan for some anxiety I get time to time. -- After browsing this site a bit it seems some people REALLY enjoy a good benzo "high" (if you will) time to time (hopefully, at least). I have 1mg tabs and will pop one when I am feeling really anxious. I may have a high tolerance, but I feel nothing when I do this. At best, I will calm down a bit, however I have never felt any euphoria or anything of this sort.

My question is, like people with ADD/ADHD, Adderall and drugs alike seem to not really affect them as much because its basically treating them for their "issue" so to speak. Does the same rule apply with me? Being that I am an anxious fucker, are benzos not going to give me the euphoria and such that others may experience? The most have I have taken is 2mg and if anything the shit just put me RIGHT to bed. I am the type that prefers "uppers" if I am gonna do any drug so I wouldn't be poppin my ativan daily, or even weekly to try and catch a buzz, I just thought time to time it may be kinda cool to get ina happy ass mood and relax around the house.

xanax and valium are better benzos for getting a buzz off,ativan far too subtle,like you say "it does its job"

probabaly if you wanna get 'high' go for valium,xanax or a whole range of other wonderful benzos.

Lorazepam IMO isn't a benzo you can really get "high" off of. At higher doses (8-10mg) I start to feel really awkward and depressed and all I want to do is sleep.

Try getting some Temazepam or Alprazolam if you want a "high" from your benzos.

If you've only got Lorazepam then try 4-5mg as the above poster said.

Ativan is very very "medical" drug. It is possible to get high off it, sure, but it is not going to be the same as what you get from other drugs. I have 2mg tabs and there is truly no high to be found. It does the job of ridding you of anxiety. The high you get from taking a handful is not really enjoyable.

It would be a good idea for you to refrain from taking it constantly. Your dependence will build up quick, and benzo withdrawal is an awful experience. Keep that in mind.

^ Yea, I got 30 pills like 2 months ago and I have about 13 left, not too mention I have gave a few to the Wifey. I am DEFINITELY not gonna make it an every day habbit. I drink enough beer and smoke enough herb for all that lol.
