Stimulants Meth dopamine spike=WOW

I recently saw a doco on crystal meth and it's effects on the brain. It was stated that a normal unit of happiness, eg laughing with friends, doing something you enjoy produces a dopamine spike of 100 units in normal brains. A dopamine spike of 400 units was stated with Cocaine, but with smoking or shooting meth a dopamine spike of 1200 units was acheived-12x that of a normal happy human event (causing a virtual forest fire in the brain). It was stated that there no other way of acheiving this.

My question is what is the state with medically scripted stims, eg D-amp, Ritalin, Adderall in usual adult doses (30-60mgs)?8)

Anyone know? or is this an advanced drug forum question?8)

yes. the release of dopamine between meth and amp is about the same. meth releases a lot moar serotonin though, and you can smoke/bang/snort meth effectively when you cant really snort rx amps.

The methyl group in methamphetamine makes it a much more potent drug than regular dextro-amphetamines, and also a lot more neuro/cardiotoxic. I believe it does cause a greater release of dopamine than dextro-amphetamines, hence its neurotoxicity, and it also causes a large release of serotonin and norepinephrine.

First off that's very dose dependant. I wonder what dose of each of those(meth and coke) it would be in an average sized person to cause those spikes(and if they're the max amount, or more of an average). It's not like that's surprising though, have you done meth? I also wonder if that's snorting or banging coke.

With the scripts it's also dose dependant. Also, chewing up a concerta 54 woulg cause a high spike for an hour vs taking it normally wouldn't cause a big spike but it'd last longer(BTW concerta is a completely worthless drug IMO first for AD(H)D and second for abuse, it sucks and I deeply hate it/won't take it again, I bet chewing up a bunch of sudafed would have better effects). The point of them being prescribed is to have the kids on them be focused on work, so the dose for the person on them would(should) be right for them that it won't be making them bounce off walls or be up for days(much unlike how much coke/meth people do).

I'm just stating the obvious though so I'll shut up.

"have you done meth?" crystal meth? NO WAY, never have never will, i'v seen to many in state psych units and prison to 'try it just once' as far as i'm concerned crystal would turn the Pope into a satanist and the people who make the crap and sell it to kids should be shot.

I have a very sever case of ADD (according to top psychiatrists) and it rules my life. I was treated with medical Desoxyn SR tabs and they were the most satisfactory medicine i'v taken and slowed down the whirlwind in my head, alas they are no longer made as the cost to the company became uneconomical.

Ritalin at 60-80mgs 3-4x daily put me to sleep, and had avery short term of effectiveness.

Keep in mind that under the chart it says "It should be noted that lower values correspond to higher binding at the site, or in other words, less is more."

So (d)-methamphetamine does have a slightly higher rate of dopamine binding than (d)-amphetamine.

Desoxyn is Methamphetamine HCI(glass, correct me if I am wrong anybody). What was your dosage? And it seems odd that somebody would get prescribed desoxyn(a drug rarely prescribed and probably watched closer than OC) without being told that it is meth.

I'v seen at least 15 psychiatrists and NEVER used Desoxyn as a recreational drug, it was used to calm my mind state.

Benzos make me hyper with their disinhibition effects, stims calm me, calm the hurricane in my head, and make me feel closer to a normal person (i guess).

Some of it is. (d,l)-methamphetamine is apparently a lot more toxic than (d)-methamphetamine though. And (l)-methamphetamine won't get you very high at all - or if it does, it'll be a pretty unpleasant one.

Right, that's what I was thinking. I know what somebody was doing around me got l-meth from the inhailers which people were saying was shitty uncomfortable tweaky(in a bad way) meth that you needed more of(so like you said, not active in a positive way but yes slightly active).

IS there any way for me to tell the difference between d-meth and d,l-meth from glass I'd buy on the street? If I can find out where it comes from or something(as in, if they are making it from sudafed, or if they are getting it from mexico etc etc). I love meth but keep it the most rarely used of all the drugs I do much and want to try to make sure it's the best(and healthiest) I can get.

Adderall is about 87.5% d-amphetamine(mostly not salt) and 12.5% l-amphetamine(salt) if my memory is right. The reason(to my understanding) that some street meth would be d,l is by the way they make it (ingredients), some ways making d and some d,l, hence my looking for a way to find out which before taking it(possibly in late August, that will have been 3ish months, last time wasn't a massive dose but was with a bunch of mdma so I'm on a break of both).
