Opioids How is a tolerance like this even possible?

Okay, so once every couple of months I run a short on my Dilaudid and Hydromorph Contin prescription. Generally I do okay and dont use anymore then prescribed, actually, I usually have couple days of e><tra meds. I have a very good friend who use to be on the same drugs as myself. After the recent e><posure of hydromorph contin being an injectable drug of abuse, many doctors have switched their pain patients over to fentanyl Duragesic patches, and fentora buccal tablets for rescue meds. Mine tried but i resisted.

Anyways, so I have traded back and forth with him for years. He called last night and said he needed help. So I lent him 3 >< 30mg hydromorph contins. HE called me back in two hours and wanted more. He said he had snorted all three of them. So he snorted 90mgs of hydromorphone in 2 hours, and it just brought him out of withdrawal,he was not buzzed at all when i brought him the other 3 30mg pills. He is used to chewing on fentanyl patches. He ended up using all of the pills e><cept one that night!8o Thats 150mgs of hydromorphone!

He gave me 3 100mcg patches back. All I have to say is Im not touching this shit. I will sae them for a day in the future when im down and out of meds. Surely chewing these is the sole reason his tolerance is so high?

What is your tolerance to opiates? I just want an idea of how high tolerance can get for heavy users. I think this is obsurd. If I needed 150mgs of hydromorphone just to feel well, I would quit.

OK nice disclamer at the bottom there Deluded and i also condone that.

My tolerance permits me to dose quite large when i decide i wanna get really high, but my tolerance is a strange one and its a fluctuating one in so may factors.

Heroin is hard to judge in strength but i believe the heroin in austrailia is not too bad in quality(if you know a good connect) from what i've read on Opiophile a lot of heroin in the west of the states is poor quality black tar heroin and only a little powded H which is sort after. all H from melbourne is powder pressed into a rock. Anyway, after using no opiates for 4 days i did .2 of a gram in one hit.

With oxycodone I got my refill and decided i was gonna treat myself and really experience oxy(paid the price at the end of the month) So i bought a cople of micro filters and put 4 30mg OC's on my spoon and 15 mins later i injected 120mg of oxycodone. It felt nice, the rush was slower onset but was slightly disappointed. i ended up IV'g another 90mg 30mins later and bam! put me on the nod... first good nod in ages

Codeine is a curious opiate to me... i find that i get good euphoria but not much good body opiate feeling. And for some reason if i go over 160mg i don't feel much more euphoria and get a slightly stronger body;oad and duration.... so every time i dose codeine i use 160mg

And Deluded, I envy you man. I'd love to check out Canada. and those Hydromorph Contins seem like the best tablet ever. Do you see the HM contin being taken off the market in the future? do you IV
 
Man what a waste of hydromorphone, when you need 90mg snorted to get out of withdrawl it's time to choose another ROA (plugging or IV/IM) or get on a maintenance program, fuck.

Yeah i read that thread a while ago Gibby 420... what dose of methadone were you on when you banged 120mg of HM?

And also i've been reading that forum for a while now and i want to register. do you know when they have registration open... i think i read a few weeks a year, is that true?
 
If he's munching that much Fent then it's easily possible that he has such a large tolerance.
Another thing though is that he's not getting the most out of the Hydromorphone (he really should plug them, I would really advise IVing but it's completely up to him).

I was at a peak dose of 180mg's but didn't start shooting HM & dope again until I was down to around 70mg's.

I'm still doing 120mg shots 3-4 times a month (right after the clinic pisses me for the week) and my Methadone dose is currently at 12mg's, going down 1mg ever other week.

As far as registration at Opiophile goes you just gotta keep checking like every day.
 
If you have enough money and do it for enough time I don't think there is a ceiling on how high a tolerance can go. I know at my peak of oxycontin use I was blowing 3-400 mg a day. That's 4-5 80s! I wouldn't even get high I was just feel a little nice and it would just get me through the day. And if I wasn't selling them to support that habit there is no way I could afford it. I'm glad I don't have to deal with that anymore. Still a work in progress but subs are a life saver!

Haha another dude from the bronx eh. Though i doubt you were selling them to me ;)
 
I was once told by a doctor that the human body is such an amazing thing and that it can adapt to so much. One patient is on such a high dose it would kill you, yet they walk around functioning normally on it. Your friends tolerance has obviously got out of control, he has gradually adapted to higher and higher doses, likely chasing that high that we remember but never can find again. Im probably not much better than your friend, at least in the past I wasnt, and others here probably arent either. I have seen people who take some gigantic doses on here. 180mg's of dilaudid snorted is a lot though for sure.

Yeah that is a fair bit of Methadone, my cousin is on seventy mg and he easily doses 3 to 4 points of decent powder H. Anything over 30mg of methadone acts as a partial blocker, but i;m sure you already knew that. HM must have a rapid build up to tolerance no mater what opiate one is also on... man i wish i could try some IV's HM... can't even buy it on the street here.

Chewing fent will rocket your tolerance so high it's entirely possible. I was chewing 2x75uG patches a day (>30mg of fent in total) and I couldn't feel anything besides the fent. Even a year later and keeping opiate use to practically zero my tolerance is still about 20x higher than my opiate naive friends who get off on tiny amounts, relatively speaking.
