Last dose of oxycodone i took was 17 hours ago.
I just took 2 MG of subs.

Do you think if will fall into bad WD or no ?

Okay. Been about 50 minutes. Not feeling sick. Feeling a lil better. Unless it's just the placebo effect.

Not my first time using suboxone.
Just fear of first dose too early /=

bit pointless asking that now.. maybe you should have asked before eating the sub...

to know if you're in the clear for taking a sub, just wait for the W/D to kick in, then take it... and if you dont do opiates regularly, then check on the half lives of the opiates your taking and do the math

Been over 90 minutes now. So, i took another 2 MG.

All seems to be well. I just have a big fear of WD. In fact. The fear of it is sometimes worse.

Thanks for the reply. Will keep updated.

I did about 90 MG of roxxies yesterday.

So, I guess 16 hours was all i needed.

Do you take oxycodone daily? If not then you generally don't need to worry about taking the Suboxone TOO early. Its when your addicted to opiates that you need to wait the general 24-48 hours time period before taking the Suboxone.

You should have asked before but I think that you may be fine.

Agreed.

Moving forward, though - I would take as little Suboxone as possible. If you're only taking 4mg over a period of 2 doses, you shouldn't be that bad-off. I took 5 days off from work when I transitioned from Methadone (Much longer half-life) to Suboxone. A full 72 hours of morbid hell, followed by extremely small, but satisfying, doses of Sub totaling no more than a 1-1/4~ pill a day. By the end of three weeks I was done with it. Everyone's situation is different, and my doctor did advise against this method for the best chance of success. He did, however, advise for me to wait out the WD as long as possible (Even past 72hrs).

Best of luck.

P.S

Completely unrelated, but a few days ago I tried half of a 8mg Sub tag and was sick as a damn dog. Amazing, when you think how high one's tolerance has become to be able to ingest 32mg a day, and just feel okay.

Glad you didn't go into precip. WD's :)

The best way to know whether to take a Sub yet or not is, as said, go into withdrawal.
Another way, mentioned, is to look up the half-life of your taken Opiate / Opioid (the highest "estimated" number of hours it gives), double it and then add a few hours on =D
That would mean that the Opiate / Opioid you last took would be cleared from your system and, most importantly, your receptors which will now to be screaming for their lovely mu-agonist.

Agreed.

I went through the same transition from Methadone to Suboxone. First I had to ween myself down to 30mg before I could switch over. I then had to go through the 72 hour waiting period. It was the last 24 hours that felt the worse. Methadone has just about the longest half-life of any other opioid that is abused which is why you have to wait 72 hours before making the switch. For most other opiates you are told to wait 24-48 hours.

The OP should be fine if he doesn't abuse opiates daily. You don't need to wait as long after using just a single dose of an opiate. Oxycodone also has a short half-life.

Yes. I have had a bad roxxy/oxycodone habit for about a year now.

Usually about 5 30MG's a day.

I was taking suboxone last month for 31 days. I stayed clean for a week. Then went to a friends house and relasped etc. ( You know the drill ).

So, I decided to start up on subs again. Because I'm sick of being high.
The first time i ever done Subs was about 40 days ago. And I did methadone only 24 hours prior and did not get sick. I really lucked out. So, I was a lil worried this time. But so far my WD's have gone away and the subs are doing the trick. Thank God for no precip Wd :)

Only have 7 days worth.

Plan on taking 2x 4 mg's for the first 2 days and then taper down to 2x 2mg's for the rest of days etc.

"Oxycodone also has a short half-life. " yes. I am thankful for that. But it also can suck because withdrawls come so quick.

I have a doc visit coming up on Tuesday. I just plan to stay on subs and get rid of them.

Also.

I do snort my subs.
It works fine. And make a little go much further. Or it does for me.
Usually just 2 MG at a time though. 4 at most.
