i have a few little planties in my garden but my dog keeps trying to eat them, i lost a whole 2 plants last year to the beast and even put up a net fence to stop her this time,
just caught her nibbling at the leaves of my cheese which overhang the fence, and a couple weeks ago i left my nyc deisel ryder out for some extra sun and she nearly killed it, got left with a stalk and top leaves, glad to say she has recovered now though

does anyone know a way to get a dog to stop eating your ganja? i dont wana spray anything on them as a repellent even if it is aparently safe to injest

she doesnt eat buds when left on the side or buds on the plant she just wants to munch the leaves and stems

HELP.........

keep yer mutt away from your plants.
simple as that.
or build a bigger chicken-mesh wire frame around your plants.

really, use your head, this isnt a hard problem to overcome AT ALL.
keep yer mutt indoors or make a better fence round yer plants.

OR

piss around them.
this will mark your scent/territory.

considering its my parents house and my parents dog and they dont want me building a bigger enclosure than i already have i think marking my territory is probably the best idea there

will this actually stop my dog from munching them or will i just be pissing in my own garden for nothing?

i know its a simple problem for most but iv got to consider my parents wishes and i am lucky enough to be allowed to grow anyway, moving the plants to another location is out of the window aswell as they are far too big for that now

chicken wire the fuck out of it and if it carries on crocodile clip a car battery to the chicken wire.

If you're not able to change the enclosure, or change the action and behavior of the dog, you're left with few options here. If pissing doesn't work, you may want to reconsider dusting your plants with something. You can use hot pepper and other things that are non harmful and wash off easily. If you go this route, powdered cyanne pepper will keep your dog away.

thanks for the responses but i think ill go with carls suggestion of some powdered cayanne pepper as i think this will be less harmfull to my dog and hopefully next time she decides to try take a nibble she'll get a shock that puts her off for life

will post pics in the weed porn thread soon, see how u guys think im getting on

this might be a little drastic. but if you buy some big game piss like bear or lion piss.

you wont have to worry about ur dog or any other animals that might come along.

that piss willl make them bust ass in the toher direction.

Before those more drastic deterrents, I would try buying a big can of black pepper and sprinkle a generous amount of it around your fence. The dog will sniff around the area and once he gets a nose full of that stuff he might leave your plants alone.

I know this works because I used to have a dog who would get under the fence to get out of our yard. If the black pepper doesn't work try a hotter pepper like cayenne.

Please try this before using electricity because it might mean having to clear out a lot of dead critters away from your fence :(

wait till it starts eating it, fill a sock with hash and beat your dog.

lol

seriously though, they have devices for gardens that work off the principle of motion detection. you can get devices that use high frequency noise, or some have little sprinklers that aim at the motion. its kind of fun to watch, my dog thinks it is hilarious....but he stays away...lol

I wasn't talking about a high-voltage electric fence or anything, rather the invisible fences that emit a high-pitched noise.

The other solutions should work fine, if not this is a surefire approach. I do understand why some may have qualms with this; I would be iffy about using elec. if I had pets.

yeh im definately not into electrocuting my dog no matter how low a voltage, so im gona put some hot chilli powder or something like that on the leaves tonight hopefully that should give her a shock

Be sure to post again once you have some cayenne or other pepper powder on and around them, and let us know how it's well it's working to keep your dogs away.

This is going to sound weird, but piss into a spray bottle, then grind up some cayenne pepper into a dust and mix it into your urine and spray all over your plants and around your plants.

At least that's what works for growing in the woods, so I would think itd also work for your dog too probably.

Go to the pet store and ask for a product called "Bitter Apple", it's all natural and is actually made from Granny Smith apples. It tastes REALLY bitter to dogs and will discourage her from chewing further on your plants.
