Chat, discuss.

I'm watching Anderson v. Davydenko right now. Great match. Also, Davydenko is a fantastic name. I have no bias for either player so naturally I'm rooting for Davydenko.

BTW, admins, where's the tennis racquet icon for threads? lol, kidding, of course.

fix0red.

So R-Fed almost got smacked out in the first game, but bounced back to take him 6-0 in the 5th. Pretty crazy shit right there.

It's gonna be an interesting tournament... something to watch in between world cup matches, and to keep the body clock right for late night sport watching, what with le tour coming up ;)

HOLY CRAP. Isner vs. Mahut in an unbelievable 5th set that's STILL going...

6-4, 3-6, 6-7, 7-6, 54-53...8o

what. the. fuck. I mean seriously.

59-59 in the 3rd? They'll have played more games than anyone, ever, just in that 5th set!! (well almost) that is more games than a player usually needs to win the entire tournament!!

Crazy shit.

that scoreline, or anything even close to it will never be repeated. 70-68 in the 5th set. Just wow. The worst thing about this match was that there had to be a loser. Both players showed phenomenal guts, power, ability, and just sheer competitiveness to last the whole way through. Neither gave an inch. This was a battle of the titans. I'm glad to have been able to watch parts of it. This is a defining moment in the history of tennis.

Again, just wow.

God, I was REALLY happy for Isner but jesus I feel badly for Mahut. He looked SO CRUSHED. And yes, I guess it was nice they did that ceremony at the end but it was almost torture for him. You could just see it.

:) & :(

wish i could have seen some of that match. loved hearing about it. john mcenroe said that he actually felt bad for the ref lol.

we've come a long way from winning with straight meth with all these new advanced epo's and stuff. makez 4 sum solid tennis. GO TENNIS!

70-68, crikey! That's the first I had heard of that game... amazing. There was a match in the Australian open last year (or the year before) between Hewitt and Djokovic that went until about 4am. I stayed up for that it was great!

Watched Petra Kvitova win her quarter final tonight, I had never seen her play before. She definitely wanted it more in the end. I love seeing the interviews after the match, her English was pretty average :)

Sucks to see Fed go out at this stage, esp. at Wimbledon, but them's the breaks. I'll be pulling for Murray to win so the home country folks will go insane.

Women's side...eh sort of a bummer with the semis. Serena should clean up.

Happy federer's gone as he annoys me but gunning for murray, i think he's got a good chance of winning this time.

^ in what way does federer annoy you?

i'll be pulling for murray too - it would be epic to see him win wimbledon but it's hard to see him beating nadal...

I find him too arrogant and feel that he is lacking personality. As a sportsman i cannot fault him as he is one of the greatest tennis players in the history of the sport. He's not very genuine as at the 2008 AUS open when he was struggling he started yelling on court and being quite rude off court, yet at the same time tries to portray himself as really nice.

Are you kidding me? One time in the past 10 years he's been 'jerkish' and you think he's an arrogant person? I can't imagine having as much calm and control as he has with being such a public figure and I generally consider myself a pretty nice person. :\
