Opioids Black out from opiate withdrawal?

i've had a pretty steady oxycontin habit for a little over a year now and yesterday was day 3 of withdrawals for me (not by choice) and i had terrible diarrhea all day. around 9pm, i scored an OC40 and did half of it because i wanted some for the morning.

about 2 hours later, i was smoking a blunt and standing outside with my friends when literally everything went black; i was still standing and i could hear everything my friends were saying, but i couldn't see -- it was like i was literally blind. it lasted about 2 minutes and then i got light-headed, very hot and it was like i could hear everything about 20x more intense; like the washer going and the fridge humming, it was so strange.

after 20 minutes or so i felt better, but it really sketched me out. i assume it was some sort of head rush and most likely had nothing to do with using oxy since i've certainly used A LOT more than 20 mgs before and never had that happen. and maybe i was dehydrated from having diarrhea all day?

i'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this (or something similar) or if anyone had a possible reason for it.

Opiates and marijuana can both lower your blood pressure. The result could easily be a fainting spell, especially if you were dehydrated. I've gotten light headed from the combination before but never quite blacked out like that. On the other hand, I used to use DXM a lot and had this happen one time on a relatively low dose (90 mg) and smoking a lot of weed. I started to feel sort of panicky and my heart was beating hard, I went into the bathroom and ended up leaning against the wall on the floor and had my vision going black on me. I started profusely sweating and feeling nauseated. Scared the shit out of me and ruined my night. I haven't taken DXM since

I've had this before. Total blindness. A long time ago though when Codiene + Tramadol would get me high.

Opiate withdrawal raises bloodpressure, marijuana generally will raise blood pressure a bit.. especially in anxiety prone people
