There's alot of cool shit I want.

^ I used to have a set of global and can tell you they are a waste of coin. They are cheaply priced compared to others but they only provide the performance of a cheaper set.

I dumped those and picked up a set of Shun knives and they are awesome!

When I bought them I could also pick up an extra knife as a bonus and I selected a Kyocera Ceramic which is a freaky knife and well worth looking at if your in the market

I know I'm not Aussie, but I can't find the other thread if there is one...

But I want this dress!

^ A mate of mine told me Jaycar is good for NiCad batteries, so I checked out their website. I'm going to get some when I find a decent charger.

Found the Wrenches I want. Crescent make a set of metric ones.

Some Crescent stuff is made in Asia now, so I would check them out first. But they will hopefully be American, quality stuff :)

^ Hey Klue you might want to check out the Kitchen Knife thread over in Second Opinion :)

Global are okay but nothing special. I'm not sold on ceramic blades either. Sure they come pretty sharp and stay so for a lifetime but I've heard they're all but impossible to resharpen without sending them back to the manufacturer, and they're brittle so have to be handled with care to avoid chipping them.

If you want a new hobby you could have a look at proper Japanese knives and sharpening?

More info than you'll ever need to know:

I have been looking and looking at torches for a long time now and there is a German brand that keeps turning up in my travels. Led Lenser, here is the website www.ledlenser.com.au

They are pretty sweet it seems, but so pricey. I have a Xenon in a Dolphin style torch which is absolutely awesome, such a powerful beam (about 200 meters). But it's bulky. I would love one that would fit in my backpack nicely and not so bulky in the hand. Maybe one that takes 2 D batteries. I would never go back to a normal incandescent bulb after having a xenon torch, even a led would be better. Something like this...

Check out Dealextreme for cheap good torches: http://www.dealextreme.com/products.dx/category.999

And you can look them up @ http://www.candlepowerforums.com/ and whirlpool has a ton of torch freaks: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1279207

I just don't get it myself, but each to their own.

I want this, maybe at tax time :-)

you can buy cheap ceramic knives online, for around $12 US, not sure if there's metal in the handle though, and if not may cause problems with customs....

^ You love that deals extreme website! I'm not too keen on getting stuff from overseas as yet, although there is some cool stuff on that site. And yeah, I've checked out that candlepowered forum before, some of the collections those guys have are incredible.. torch geeks! :D

And thanks too Belarki for the links, I'll check out that thread in SO. And again, I have seen that knife forums site before too. I really do need to learn how to use a steel, I'm okay with a stone though.

^ Oh, I didn't look at that whirlpool link, checking it out now. I was going to mention those lazers that was brought up earlier in this thread. You wouldn't want to buy one of those! And yeah, I suppose I could use my credit card. I'll add that website to my ever growing list (seriously, I just wrote a list of things I have been meaning to buy and its a whole page long :D)

LOL yeah DX was one of the main vendors that was supplying lasers here, they have alot of stuff that is contraband here, but on the whole if you research your product you'll get some decent bargains.

I avoid ebay completely now due to the fact that the majority of gadgets I like to buy are just resold DX products :-)

if you're paranoid about using your visa online, get yourself an ING debit card, no fees at all and you can just put the amount of money you need to spend on it without worrying about your bank account getting emptied

oh and when ped eggs came out, I bught one from dx for $4 aud lol identical to the $30 ones lol

^ I'm happy with my Kirby. The headlight means I can vacuum the hallway in the dark.

a headlight?! Man that's awesome!

they're good machines, all the carpet cleaners I've had have always used kirbys

how much did you pay for yours if you don't mind me asking?

Well I checked deal extreme, but they didn't have printer cartridges... off to ebay ;)

A real powerful Blue laser !!

Well that's why its called blu-ray !
