Is Ketamine at all comparable to DXM?

I love dissassociates and I've never tried ketamine. How does it make you feel? I just want to know because my dealer doesn't get any for a week and I want to know what to expect :)

Feels kind of like DXM, a bit more comfortable. Faster onset and come down. Tons of information the erowid vault or in the big and dandy thread here.

Use the search engine homie;)

I think of DXM as Ketamine's retarded younger brother. That's how much better I think Ket is than DXM.

I find DXM has a lot more dirtier side effects compared to ketamine and ketamine feels a lot more cleaner in general, however I have only experienced DXM in the cough syrup form and this would most likely contribute to the dirty feeling. Personally I love ketamine but tend to avoid DXM as much as possible.

the thing is, DXM hits a lot more places in your brain than K. DXM is far more of a stimulant and an empathogen than K is. if you're looking for pure dissociation, K is the way to go, but don't knock DXM just because its not K!

Yep, DXM feels like a cheaper version of Ketamine and K doesn't have an itch like DXM.

DXM is a stimulant? Pssh, in my years of taking DXM never once have I thought that. I can fall asleep easily before the 4 or 5 hour and I'm always very sedated. Walking more than around the house blows. I tried walking to the park once, but half way I felt like this was a silly feat.

Also I find K to not be any more of a dissociative than DXM. DXM wields a very dissociated sate when you pass the 2nd plateau. I honestly feel at high doses DXM (pre dex-hole) puts me in more of a dissociative state then a high (pre k-hole) dose of K when my eyes are open and I'm moving about.

Honestly their isn't a point to comparing the two. They feel completely different. I'd say a bridge between the two would be 4-MeO-PCP though.

An analogy: K is to coke as DXM is to caffiene.

Exaggeration? Maybe, but it's about getting what you really want out of a drug, and DXM is just lazy and gross.

I tried DXM several times before I got to try ketamine. When I finally did do ketamine, I would say the faster onset makes it more intense in one way, but the shorter duration makes it less intense in another way.

I also found that the dissociation I experinced on DXM did prepare me for ketamine. I like ketamine more though, simply because I've never had access to pure DXM, and I think drinking cough syrup is nasty and will never do it again.

So yeah they are comparable. Very anaestheticy and druggy feeling. I thought DXM was cool, but lasted way too long to want to do often, at least with cough syrup anyways....if i could get my hands of pure DXM powder I would do it.

DXM has a worse body load than Ketamine, which can cause an unpleasant emotional state during onset. The similarity is the dissociation (forgetting where you are, entering a conscious dream state, discovering hidden memories, et cetera.)

Does K make it impossible to see when both eyes are open like DXM does?

Every time that I have done dxm I have had serious eyesight problems. I mean It is IMPOSSIBLE to focus on anything with both eyes open. I usually would end up holding one hand over one eye and still struggling to see anything but a big blur.

Most of my dxm doses were arround 750MG and up to a gram, so I usually didnt really mind not being able to see with both eyes cause I was too buisy travelling the universe with my eyes closed. I couldnt imagine doing a low dose of DXM and enjoying it, the whole point for me is the astral projection type effects.

So again, does K make it impossible to see with both eyes open or is it different in that regard?
