My HPPD seems so severe sometimes it worries me. It's best in the middle of day when outside, but during the morning or night, its ridiculous. The static is everywhere and it seems like if I stare off my focus moves on a tiny, random part and that part will disappear if I look long enough. I see ridiculous afterimages and patternings, my eyes seem to move if I keep them still too long, I'll go cross-eyed. I have random flashes of light if I look at a wall and if I look long enough it gets pretty intense.

Fucking adderall man, ruined everything I'd gained, I'm hoping its temporary, I'm back to thinking I have a disease and noticing every little body change.

I don't have HPPD, but do notice visual changes when i take d-amphetamine or adderall. I'd advise anyone with HPPD against taking adderall. 2c-i has seemed more likely (through anecdotal evidence anyway) to cause HPPD than other 2c-x's. I'm unsure as to why though. MDMA has also been implicated in quite a few cases as well. I'd imagine mephedrone's similar action could also illicit this response, but that's just a guess. A fair amount of the HPPD cases that have been studied were before a lot of the newer things were widely available, so LSD was the main culprit in those, but overall among LSD users, HPPD seems to be very uncommon. I've never heard of a case of HPPD arising from 4-AcO-DMT alone, but I doubt anyone that's taken psilacetin only takes psilacetin so it may well could play a role as well. I'd put my money on the 2c-i & meph though.

All this being said it would obviously be wise to abstain from all psychedelics if this disorder is causing you problems. Even cannabis can exacerbate this type of problem. I don't know how effective the various treatment options are, but that also probably depends somewhat on whether or not you have the depersonalization & derealization, anxiety, & panic symptoms that are often co-morbid with HPPD.

I thought everyone had the static colours ? like a grain making up the pictures you see with your eyes ? High amounts MDMA seem prone to HPPD if you ask me, ive caned the fuck out of K and psyches and the only 'Flashback' ive ever had is geometric patterns on my bathroom floor which annoyed me every time i took a shit :P This was at my old house though, and was identical to the patterns on the floor i experienced whilst having a rough time in the toilet after a 1/3g bomb of Mandy. Peace.

Its been 15 months since it appeared for me and i have a diagnosis for the disorder. I got mine from MDMA. I dropped about 350mg of mandy in a glass of OJ and the next few days literally felt like i was in a dream. Then i slowly started to notice all of the acute visual changes/disturbances.

I'm currently taking Clonazepam and Keppra as a treatment. The keppra, if taken for long enough, seems to do a little bit in terms of decreasing visuals but Klonopin is unmatched if you have the dissociative and anxiety/panic reaction that most people seem to get.

I have HPPD symptoms including
-shrinking and or growing of a object
-static
-walls make patterns when I stare at them
-things also dissappear if I stare long enough
-sometimes I'll look at walls little grey waves form
-EYE FUCKING FLOATERS SO ANNOYING!

I am not sure, but I think that when you have been exposed to halucinogens, staring at anything for long enough is going to have strange visual disturbances. I dont know if that really qualifys for HPPD, I would think its more in your head than actually HPPD... But then again, its all in your head so if you think its real enough it is real.....

Do you notice things right away, or do you always have to kind of stare on something before it starts happenning?

I dont have to stare at anything. Looking at the computer screen now i can see things morph and move or "wiggle" in my peripherals. This is only 1 symptom from the long list that accompanies it.

I've done shrooms a handful of time in the past without any kind of long lasting residual visual symptoms.

When you wake up after a trip and you're blinded by light sensitivty, have floaters all over the place everywhere you look, can barely see your hand infront of your face at night in a room with no light because of visual static, see tracers off EVERYTHING moving across your field of vision, halos around all different typs of concentrated light bulbs, etc. Trust me if you have the actual disorder you know it.

^^ yep thank you alot of people have tried to tell me I don't have it but I have those symptoms I posted And a handful of others.. Eye Floaters are fucking annoying!

Any major dude: 2c-i, mephedrone (way too much of it), LSD, and 4-aco-dmt
that'd do it
-sometimes I'll look at walls little grey waves form
my waves are colored and sparkly :) your symptoms don't seem to be of a clinical degree though

my hppd isn't of the "clinical" degree since i can live with it just fine. if i was a stim user and used psychs more often, perhaps it would be clinical

^It does seem that 2C-I, for whatever reason, is one major culprit behind visual disturbances. I don't think the -iodine becomes free iodine though, but interactions with the thyroid can cause disturbance on many levels. However, its probably from dopaminergic damage to serotoninergic neurons then any effect of actual iodine....
That said, I think everyone has visual-weirdness at times, psychedelic users are perhaps more prone to pay attention to vision....

^ yeah... though stimulants exacerbate it too. the fact that he combined lots of mephedrone and 2ci (even if not on the same day) it's not surprising that he has visual disturbances.

since this combo is rather more likely to produce the disturbances, it's quite possible that he's not very prone to it in the first place and may not have gotten it at all if he only had used mushrooms and lsd. and that means it could go away over a long period of time, assuming he quits stimulants and for a while quits psychedelics

Yea i also had HPPD but the symptoms were temporary. Itl go away eventually or youl just get used to them and find ways to cope with it. Dont worry my friend

Static!

Floaters are a naturally occurring phenomena, the other symptoms are that of HPPD, and are very similar to what I experience. I am interested to know what drugs you've abused, and if you have had it as long as you can remember ? Peace.

to the guy who said walls make paterns when he stares at them for a long time

this is called focal point visual meditation, ;) many people can do it without ever experiencing psychedellic trips

same with the static, its part of vision, and you just don't notice it till you experience a change in perception

and eye floaters, are a physical thing

lysergic most of hppd is "normal" stuff made salient by perhaps more connections or increased signal output in the visual cortex. floaters can get worse, noticed more often, etc
