18" too much for a virgin to take? (san pedro that is..)

ok, the wife and I have received four 12" cuttings of san pedro, 2 1/2" diameter.
Neither of us has done any proper psychs, the closest being mdma+weed+nitrous.

I've read hundreds of posts and while 12" is pretty common, there were several that only got threshold effects with that amount.

Considering expense and time of preparation, should we go ahead and try 18" each? It is also commonly remarked that mescaline is a forgiving compound as far as dosage...

And we're assuming since it takes a good two hours before effects emerge, that starting low and then increasing the dose isn't really an option?
 
Definitely go for it, the worst case scenario is that you won't enjoy it and will realise that you took too much, which is VERY unlikely, the best being opened to the world of psychedelic wonder on a greater level than 12" would do? So yeah, try it and report back :P
 
expect the shits - when we had san pedro it came out in pretty much the same state it went in =P
 
haha, nice title..But ya, Im going to agree that you should be fine, even in heavier doses, mescaline continues (at least in my experience) to be gentle and not nearly as ego shattering as say LSD or mushrooms. Especially at an 18" dose, because most of the cactus going around that I have sampled seems to be relatively consistent and I know that around 12" is just shy of 300mg, or around 250mg in my most humble of extraction experiences. Let us know how it goes, oh and nitrous, try nitrous when your tripping :)
 
IMO, 18" is probably going to completely underwhelm you compared to what you are expecting. Puking and nausea aside, I think 24" is about what it takes to really have a psychedelic experience.

Now some people apparently get some kind of super cactus that blows their minds at 6 - 12" so maybe I'm just getting a shitty product, but I've never had a truly psychedelic mescaline experience off of less than 24" or it's equivalent extract.

Edit: that being said, 18" will probably make you feel really good and a quite goofy for a while!

^yup, youve been getting shit cacti

ive taken loads of psychedelics, shrooms, acid, dmt/ayahuasca, some rc's, mescaline... and the only time ive had a plus 4 experience was on 18 inches of cacti. i think this was more set and setting, but still.

however i would agree 18 is a decent amount for a first time, you will have a blast.
