in vietnam, the vietcong would supply opium in the early years, and then smack as the war progressed, as a way of inhibiting the performance of the enemy.
it can work on a few levels, one you have impaired abilities of the enemy,by addicting them, that is obvious.
but also, you have made contact with the enemy. the enemy becomes human,
and is your source.
now, its going to be harder to kill your connection or his family, isnt it, if all of a sudden, he is human, with a family, and he holds your next ounce of number four china white isn't it.
shrewd tactics....
this was repeated in the first afghanistan war against the russians..... towards the end of the war, whole platoons would hand over weapons and whatever they could steal from their bases to feed their habits, or to continue their trade in supplying russia with smack.
smack trade pays alot more than a grunts wage.
this also happened, in that war, with american soldiers, who were, ostensibly fighting on the same side as the afghanis.
great trade for the afghanis!!! plenty of american and russian weapons traded for a plant that grew simply...
so, it is of little wonder, that, now the allied forces are there, that again opium and heroin production is at its highest levels ever known.
oil and drugs.......weapons and wargames...
and our poor soldiers are caught in the middle, they truly are pawns, and any concern shown is purely just retoric {sic} [where does that h go!!}
if we were concerned about our soldiers mental health, there would be vast amounts spent on providing the utmost psychological and emotional help for these men, on the ground.
in the theatre of war, not as some band aid applied half heartedly for PC reasons once they arrive home.
drug testing will do diddly squat.. they will quote some statistics that prove that soldiers use no more, or less drugs than the average citizen, so therefore, they have no problem....
is it like the AFL, 3 strikes and your out...... not likely, they spend millions on training these men and women, they arent going to let a habit get in the road of utilizing the pawns.
this is a thing close to my heart, i have a vietnam vet in my fam, who is still effed up.
and have a friend in the SAS, who has served multiple tours in both wars, iraq, and afghanistan.
now, this guy is a staunch soldier, loves and believes in the cause, and will never speak out of turn about his beloved brotherhood.
yet, i have seen him change, and have heard some horror stories.
, and learnt a lot, from what he reveals, by reading between the lines.
the thing that really shits me about this war, is that the two opposing forces, their leaders, are actually on the same team...
ossama lives, possibly back in dubai, pakistan, or florida.
he is and was protected by the yanks.
the pakis and the yanks and the saudis, are up to there necks together.
and you can be garenteed that the gerilla militia in iraq, are gettin arms from one of the major arms dealers that have american or saudi investors.
seen.....
clear as..
this whole war, is about keeping the rich richer, by a few ways...
dominating the drugs market
dominating the oil market
dominating the arms market.
what better way to sell arms than a continuing war,
a war game.....in two theatres.....one urban, iraq, and the other rural and mountainous.
and they get to grow all the smack they can, and get a finger in the oil pie.
and boy oh boy, do wars need a lot of oil or what...
and the poor soldier, on any team, is the victim, who thinks he is doin the honorable thing for his nation by helping these other nations....
and then there is all the other victims, innocent citizens killed and maimed.
and dont think for an instant that we escape affects back home....
all that money could build a hell of a lot of hospitals, build a stack of schools, and subsidise a hell of a lot of industries we need to phase out, like logging.
not to mention, putting solar panels on every fucking building in the country.
seen...
clear as.
to this bull goose looney anyway.
i hope this soldier recovers, and i truly feel for his family in these uncertain hours.
as if it isnt hard enough having him on the front line, risking his life away from loved ones.
i dont think its about wether or not drug use should be allowed or not.....
.thats so far from the point its irrelevant.....
.war is a nasty cunt, that takes us all prisoner...
peace.
i wish
