I moved up here with my family from the inner-west in Sydney a fair few years ago now and I never used to like it but now that all my friends are here, my whole life is here I absolutely adore it now, as much as I adore Sydney.

What do you guys think of the central coast? Ive heard people call it bogan town and all kinds of other things but ive also heard alot of other people say how they wished they lived here and so on.

So what do you personally think of it? We need more Central Coast BL'ers to pop up...Say "I" If your a coastie?

I lived on the coast for 25 years and both love the place and hate it at the same time. It's beautiful, and a lot of my friends from the Coast are amazing. There's also nothing to do except drink at the same three pubs every Friday and Saturday night with every year's fresh batch of annoying 18 year olds, girls that all dress the same, guys that want to fight when they bump into you in the bar line.

Beaches and bush (let's see how long that lasts though - most of my childhood scrub playgrounds are now housing estates) = Superb.

Are you on the Southern end of the Coast or the Northern? I hope you don't live around the Umina end. That place is a hole.

No im in the suburb between shelly beach and forresters(you know where?) beach so kinda in the middle.

Its not bad here, lots of seniors though. Everyone is a bonghead(nothing wrong with that but makes ppl lazy) and the unemployment rate is so high but I still love all my friends to death and thats what makes this place ok but I wouldnt be here if I didnt know the people I do. Your so right, theres a hell of a lot of nothing to do around here and the clubs suck. Which three pubs are you talking about?

Haha well anywhere on the Coast you're generally close to three pubs but the last few years I was there I lived in Toukley, so Beachie, Toukley R.S.L, and I lived about 50 metres from Toukley Bowling Club. But I spent a fair amount of time at Wyong Leagues too.

Toukley is the same thing, in regards to old people. Which I always loved about it. My friends and I were always the loudest people in the street, and old drunk people are hilarious. Well except for when old guys make inappropriate comments about your girlfriend, which always gave me the shits.

Yeah its a good place. Its a trade off, you loose the activity and having a plethora of events, restaurants, pubs, clubs galleries etc etc but you gain the peace and quite without the time restrictions.

In the time it takes me to drive a kilometer where I live, I could drive 15-20km on the central coast.

Oh BTW, North Cenco FTW!

^^Yer im prob further to the north than south.

My favourtie thing about living here is the many different beaches and reefbreaks I have to choose from when I want to go for a bodyboard. Crackneck and forresters Banzai FTW!!!

We need more diversity up here though, its like everyone is the same and likes the same things, same clothes, same music, same fucking life. Only recently have a lot of my friends realised there is another world out there to explore. I grew up mostly in Sydney so id seen a lot more than most of my friends(a lot who had never even been off the central coast) and im so thankful of that. Sometimes its quite hard to get my friends to try something new coz theyre so set in their ways, unfortunately thats a big central coast thing, not wanting to step out of your comfort zone :/

you get coaster music festival...

Cypress hill are headlining, i dont think they could of got a better headline act for the demographic

that being said, i was going to move to the coast at the start of this year, but got a much better offer and now live even further up in lake mac.

whats the "scene" like at the central coast? I would think about moving out that way but the commute to newcastle everyday might be a bit too much

We just moved up here a couple of months ago. Im still formulating an opinion on whether or not I like it up here as most of my friends still live in Sydney.

Last year was awesome with The Bronx. Couldn't give less of a toss about anyone performing this year but I'll probably go anyway.
