    Welcome Guest!

Is it just me, or does techno music still suck even when you're rolling?

I've never been to a rave, but i've tried to listen to loud techno music before while rolling. It wasn't as bad as I think it is when I'm sober but it really didnt do anything for me. Something like Beethoven's ninth or some nice zeppelin on the other hand feels like a religious experience when I listen to it rolling. I'm just curious to see if anyone feels the same

Maybe you're listening to the wrong songs. Electronic music is a very broad genre that encompasses many different styles of music. The 'techno' that you listened to does not epitomize all of electronica.

Bethoven and Zeppelin are also incredible while rolling. If you like it sober, you'll probably like it more while rolling.

What exactly do you mean by techno? Like wish song, artists and stuff? Vast majority of electronic music is not actually techno. You most probably listen to some commercial stuff...

I only have heard the term "techno" prior to 1997, or as a term by ppl who despise EDM music....but in general I think you're always going to enjoy similar music rolling, as you do sober....you may be slightly more entertained, but it won't make you do a 180

haha I feel the same way No Bunk Junk! I can actually tolerate it less when Im rolling than when Im sober.

There is a genre of electronic music to suit everyones needs. For example I love house. And when I'm in a silly mood I listen to booty house. Minimal techno, like Heidi, for when I am chilling out.

IMO MDMA just enhances things you like, it doesn't necessarily make you like things you normally wouldn't. I know some people love things like death metal while they're on MDMA. Maybe it's just that the type of people who tend to enjoy MDMA tend to be the same type that enjoy EDM as well.

Techno is too broad of a term...

There is a lot of vairety to what electronic music can be....

Imagine anything from an ambient soundscape to 300bmp Neuro psytrance...

Some are pretty easy to listen to, others are kind of out there....

I suggest looking up Deadmau5, Bassnectar,Shpongle for a more psychedelic mindset.

There is also something about the energy of a place when you have a few hundred/thousand people just going nuts...

I have a feeling this is just going to turn into a thread about what kind of music everyone likes. Your music taste is your own, a certain type of music and a certain drug don't really go hand in hand. You're the same way about "techno" and MDMA I am about bob marley and weed. Sure, I like bob marley, but he's not some prophet or something when I'm high.

i think if you dont like 'techno' on mdma you are probably listening to the wrong techno.
house is definitely my favorite.
admittedly any electronic music is gonna be better if you are listening to it at a rave.

Do you have decent speakers? The likes of techno and some forms of trance can only be properly appreciated with a decent sound system. Maybe it just isn't for your taste.

This.

MDMA isn't some magical drug that turns everyone into a fan of house, or trance, or whichever electronic genre is popular these days. I could listen to EDM or grindcore while rolling, provided I like the band/group already. A drug that is so close to pure pleasure as ecstasy will just increase the enjoyment you normally feel while listening to music you like. It's not going to make a whole genre un-suck for ya.

it sounds like you are using the term 'techno' as a general term for electronic dance music rather than the actual genre of electronic music called 'techno'. it also sounds like you need to attend parties with better dj's.

there are many talented dj's and producers out there who do techno, house, dnb, etc that would likely blow your mind if you were to see them in a live setting.

don't let your past experiences leave a bad taste in your mouth for all electronic music. do some digging on the internet and find some artists that interest you, then plan your partying around an act that you like rather than just attending some 'rave' as a backdrop for eating mdma. i can almost promise you that it will be a night and day difference.

i have some very...thuggish... associates. they hate electronic music but love rolling. for some reason they had it in their heads that you have to listen to electronic music when you roll. they expressed that it just wasn't as fun as they would have liked. i told them this:

listen to what you like, dumbass.

after taking my advice they reported that they were much happier.

For many people it's not only about the music, it's about the entire experience. Allot of people I know are not huge fans of EDM (I love it) in general but they really enjoy the atmosphere and the experience of lots of other people enjoying EDM at say a club/rave/festival etc. and as a result all three combined are what makes the music really enjoyable for them.

Everyone has different music tastes. Sounds reasonable enough to me =)

Get some psytrance :-)
Lot of different very good styles / musicians / tracks are around...

Go to an underground psyparty. It is amazing music and a great scene, lot of nice people (mostly)
and good vibes :)
