"Consistancy" of the bowl

what i do when that happens is take a scissor blade and scrape them off my finger,
from palm direction to fingertips.


BAM- you have finger hash.
 
Not a bad idea, although usually when I have scissors handy I usually just use them to break up the bud anyway. What I need to do is get a grinder, which I will someday soon.
 
I just break it up, not too finely but into little bits. I just dont like throwing a nug into the bowl, just doesnt seem right to me.

Also no grinders either, only hands.
 
i get my herb ground up MUCH finer with just my fingers or a pair of scissors.

my ganja is dry when i get it.
then i dry it more so that i can smoosh (i believe this is the technical term) a nug into powder with my fingers.

so yes, grinders are over-rated.
nothing a pair of scissors or experienced hands cant do better.
 
I generally break stuff up pretty well, unless I'm in a rush to smoke or something, then I just tear shit up and throw it in. I cover my bowls after I hit though, because I can't just cherry a bowl myself, and I hardly ever smoke with others. A quarter works pretty well to cap my bubbler.

I use my grinder to collect keif, then I break it up by hand because my grinder doesn't get it to a fine consistency.

grinder arent useful b/c they break up weed, grinders are useful cuz they collect kief....do ur fingers collect kief?

and as far as finger hash build up on the scissors, i have to assume that doesnt build up near as quick as the kief catcher does
 
I've always ground up/ broken up my bud.. I used to be like Sega and did it with my fingers, but eventually, I got tired of doing it (I would be super meticulous about it)

Nowadays, I just put it in the grinder. Saves me time, especially when I'm doing anything more than half a gram.
 
Actually HoL, i meant grinders are over-rated as something to break up ganja well.
kief chambers are awesome, til my grinder broke i loved getting FUCKLOADS of crystal,
then pressing it.

and yes, my fingers DO collect kief.
better than a crystal catcher does, in fact.

i grind it up to a fine powder, and pinch and sprinkle it through my fingers,
over & over & over til the whole lot is done,
then i "sprinkle" my fingers together til the majority of green is off,
and then scrape up the crystally goodness with the scissor blade.

after about 4 times of doing this the herb powder is quite a bit less potent, but hey thats the point in hash, to get as many crystals as possible!


as for this being a debate about which is better,
no, it isnt,
this is just MY preferred methods. take it or leave it, it doesnt matter.


it all boils down to personal preference at the end of the day.
do what you prefer, what works well for you.

I always try and break up my bowls a bit just to help everything burn better. Then I cover most of my bowls in kief before hitting it.

I also recently purchased a vaporizer bowl that I break my weed up in. Wasnt a big fan at first but it is growing on me.

And good to see all the Oregon Smokers representing in this thread
 
i prefer grinding it however, if your smoking a bowl out of a water pipe i typically load chunks because larger surface areas take longer to burn, but as already posted taking the lighter to the nug 3-4 times tastes really horrible.
