My MDMA tested very dark brown (with fizzing) on marquis but slowly turned purple/black if you left it 5 mins
That does not sound like mdma at all. mdma should never be brown and should completely finish the reaction with in 30 seconds.
An MDMA reaction should go immediately dark purple then to black over a few seconds. 100% pure MDMA goes straight to black with some fizzing. An MDMA reaction ALWAYS ends black, any other reaction is not MDMA.
I have a list I have been keeping of Marquis results Myself and my friends have been getting with different substances. Below I have listed anything that would produce a brown and the exact reaction. I have also listed anything that would turn purple or end in purple after a few seconds. To be honest it sounds like you have a combination product meant to feel like MDMA.

BDB - Dark Brown nearly black
MBDB - Dark Brown to Black
Pethidine/Meperidine HCl - Deep Brown
d-Amphetamine HCl - Dark reddish brown
d-Methamphetamine HCl - Dark reddish brown
Sugar - Dark brown
substances that react ending in purple:
codeine - Very dark purple
Diacetylmorphine HCl (Heroin) - Deep purplish red
Morphine monohydrate - Very Deep reddish purple
Propoxyphene HCl - Blackish purple
Judging by your results my best guess is that you have a mixture of speed and opiates. Or sugar and opiates, but if it feels like MDMA it is likely a speed/opiate mixture. Speedballs can feel a lot like mdma to an inexperienced user. I am not sure what you have but I can assure you it is NOT MDMA.
Well, after 2 years, I found some crystal, so I tested it.
The results have confused me though.
I've been doing mdma since 1990 and never tested it before.
It looks, feels and smells right.
I bought a test kit after hearing all the wild reports on here of complete shit that we people were getting and not being able to tell was shit. Anyway, there was no Mandy around, so, I gave away my Marquis to someone.
So tonight, I used Mecke - it went immediately very very dark, but not black or purple, more like as dark a brown as you can get without it being jet black.
I tried Mandelin, the exact same reaction, instant very very dark, almost black, but actually a very very dark brown.
I used Robadope & buffer - instant dark blue
I used Simone & buffer - instant dark blue.
Now, none of the test charts have a very very dark brown colour on it..I mean exceptionally dark brown.
What do you reckon, I cannot believe this is not MDMA...
...has anyone experienced this?
To be honest, call me crazy, but I kind of wish I had just had a dab - that's what I always used to do - 30 minutes later I would have known if I had come to to mummy, or was off to hell for a while.
Can my test kit be fucked?
What shows up as exceptionally dark brown?
I'd upload a picture, but I doubt I could adjust the white balance on the image well enough for it to display as anything other than black on screen.
My extensive test result list focuses mainly on Marquis reagent as that is the one most commonly used in my circle of friends. I can tell you this though' Mecke reaction to pure MDMA is a dark green at first then turning to black after about 10 seconds.
The only thing I know of that turns brown with Mecke is 2C-I but even that is a reddish brown like dried blood. I will see if I can't do some research and find more Mecke results.
if MDA makes it to me I'll be grinning, never thought that would be about as crystal, so is it confirmed down south?
