the pains of being pure at heart

and

thao with the get down stay down

: )

wow, i think i've seen both those bands but not together but both in denver?

i think i like thao with the get down stay down but not the pains of being pure of heart cuz it reminds me of an ex :|

i saw Imogen Heap tonite. with Ben Christophers (blah) and Geese, who were fucking incredible, i wish they played all night instead of Imogen Heap, even though i guess she was alright, but fuck it felt like i was being....assaulted by classical metal music, those Geese kids from London. it made me hella randy. and of course i can't find them anywhere, i should have gotten a copy of their ep :!

was fun, my date was marvelous, weird sit down concerts of lesbian esque performance art okay whatever

Phish was great last weekend. Really happy to see them playing well and, man, what a setlist.

Just picked up Pavement tickets for a show at Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park in September in addition to catching them the last day of Pitchfork. So. Awesome. =D

Primavera Sound (Pavement/Pixies/Orbital/Wire/New Pornographers/Wilco/Spoon etc)

Pixies playing a theatre in London (and I was in the front row).

Murder by Death

Everything Everything (Manchester band who remind me a little bit of Vampire Weekend or a more straightforward Animal Collective) in a tiny club.

Coming up: Patti Smith; Bob Dylan + Ray Davies and others; Jeff Tweedy solo; Noah and the Whale.

the pains of being pure at heart

They were good when I saw them.

Um, I saw The Soft Pack last week.

In the coming few weeks I've got:

LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip
Foals
The Strokes
A Tribe Called Quest
The Dandy Warhols (if they play a sideshow for an upcoming festival)

^ i caught hot chip at this year's coachella - they were excellent.

i have chemical brothers in oakland on 28th august. can't wait.

my gf and I are going to see Sunn 0))) and Boris's collaboration piece ALTAR in a free mason temple. These guys are the grimmest motherfuckers ever, and it should be a night of black cloaks, fog, and stone-shaking soundscapes. I'm fuckin pumped, if that's the right word for drone/black metal.

Alright. Holy shit.

LCD Soundsystem and Foals were particularly awesome experiences. No doubt in no small part due to the intensely charismatic lead singers. Though in different ways. James Murphy was energetic as fuck and Yannis was oddly laid back (anyone who is familar with Foals first album would understand the "oddly", but their new stuff makes this not quite as surpirising) (yet both lead men were still wholly commanding in a lot of ways).

One of my friends wiped Yannis' neck and another grabbed his ass, when he was running through the crowd. Yea, I said he was laid back, but that was just in relation to a couple of years ago. :D

The Strokes tomorrow.

(Listen to some Foals)
