Synthetics dont belong here

IMO keep em here. Just because you may have an experience that differs from mj doesn't mean it automatically goes to PD. Its just logical to search here for em and noobs have enough trouble as it is finding shit.

Cannabis has thousands of years of usage and is very safe with minimal side effects. It has been heavily researched and used in the medical field since the beginning of history. Synthetics were invented in the past few years and don't have near the same track record. Ecstasy Discussion doesn't talk about all the synthetic ecstasy and herbal ecstasy so why should we talk about fake pot?

Actually, it does. Ecstasy Discussion is not just for discussion of MDMA. People also talk about methylone, mephedrone, 4-fluoroamphetamine, MDA, MDEA, etc. there. "Ecstasy discussion" turns out to really be more like "Entactogen/empathogen discussion".

Cannabinoids are not psychedelics. They don't exert the 5-HT2a agonism that classical psychedelics like LSD, DOI, mescaline, psilocybin, and DMT do. They act on cannabinoid and vanilloid and lipid receptors.

The synthetic cannabinoids generate an effect almost indistinguishable from real THC to modern pharmacological researchers.

I don't think a thread bitching about synthetics belongs in CD discussion.

FFS people is really THAT hard to not click on a thread with JWH in the title? I mean honestly at least 2 people will go into every thread just to bitch about the topic.

And finally, mega threads are the biggest jokes I have ever seen.

and why's that?

Uh, because they're impossible to navigate and to follow easily? Unlike normal threads, which are easy to search for and have very specific topic names, the big threads hide all sorts of useful info within multi-page threads. Nobody wants to use Advanced Search to find the specific info they're looking for, and there's no index of sub-topics for each mega/big thread. If you can't view one-line topic blurbs to sort/navigate through the forum, you are actually forced to read the body of each post and figure out what direction the thread is going each page! The entire point of forum software is to divide posts up into unique topics, instead of jamming everything together and forcing you to use complicated Advanced Search queries to find anything at all. I avoid big/mega threads like the plague.

^ If you don't wanna use search to find what you want, well thats a shame for ya.

In general, forum software is organized the way it is so that the end users don't have to use a search feature, they can sort by 'unread threads' and scan the topic titles for interesting subtopics quickly from the main forum display. This allows one to quickly go over hundreds of threads and decide which ones to actually look at the posts of and respond to, without having to read hundreds of actual posts' content. When I click 'Subscribed Threads' and I get a Big & Dandy thread, I have no fuckin clue from the search results page what the new posts in that thread are about.

The BL wiki will serve the purpose of organizing information in a manner in which answers will be easy to find.

In the forum users should learn to UTFSE to get the most out of it.

Mega Threads are much better than having 101 threads about pretty much the same thing.

synthetic is strictly man made.
substitute is what ur sayin.

good mixed damaina is the closest you will get at this time.

there
its said.

Most people who use or develop forum software would disagree. The 'threads' concept works best with a massive amount of threads, with very specific titles, and less posts per thread. That way whatever specific details someone is searching for can be found on one page in its entirety. It's quicker to visually scan/search through a higher level of organization like threads than it is the entire bodies of posts.

Who cares, in fact it would make more sense for synthetics to have their own forum rather than weed.

It's weed.

People have been smoking it forever, what else is left to say about it besides LOL GUYS I LIEK 2 GET HIIIIIGH *high 5's all round*?

Dude, was just starting to like you, gaffigan. Back off CD. I love dealing with "my weed is laced" or "what do u like to do when ur high lol" threads.

Pot or not and the picture thread is fuckin prime =D

In my point of view this the same thing as it is with opioids vs. opiates.

Opiates are the natural ones derivad from the poppies (papaver somniferum). e.g. morphine, codeine, thebaine etc.

Opioids include all the synthetics and also all the opiates. Few examples: oxyxodone, heroin, dihydrocodeine, methadone etc..

At end of the day they all bind similarly to the opioid receptor complex therefore IMO shouldn't be differentiated.

Thc, CBD, jwh-compunds, cp-compounds all bind similarly to the same cannabinoid receptors and therefore IMO belong to the cannabis discussion forum.

^^Great post.

Thanks for the Opiate and Opioid info, I learned something there.
