Questions about first time IV hydromorphone? Need help!

Okay, so I have about 13 2mg dilaudid pills and am not really getting a hit off them even after hitting about 12mg by insufflating. I have a fairly moderate oxycodone tolerance, needing at least anywhere from 50-100mg to get me high. Now, I have never IV'd any drug before, I've had IV morphine at the hospital a few times and that was pretty good however the extreme warmth and weird feeling in my spine was kind of scary at first. Now, I know the basics of shooting from reading various articles and watching a few vids of people doing it, I have my own hospital tourniquet etc.

So, first off, I can't find anywhere at the moment that is selling any fillers or whatever you call them, so I'm just going to have to make do with cotton buds and whatnot. I am going to need a syringe so should I just go to the chemist and ramble on about having a diabetic brother or something so I can grab an insulin fix? What's the best thing to say to get one?

Now, from here on I am kind of in the dark, I want to start off IV'ing 4mg, so it will be 2 pills. How much water should I use after the pills are crushed up? and after that, do i stick the needle into the cotton wool and draw everything into the fix? Oh also remembering guys, you all probably know this but the hydromorphone pills are extremely tiny! so i'm doubting there will be much fillers and binders in the pill.

After I inject, I know to pull back on the plunger to see if I've hit the vein, then slowly go in to see how I feel then put the rest in if I want to, then release the tourniquet first then the syringe. If any of this stuff is wrong please correct me! I want to make sure my first time IV'ing doesn't go wrong! Thanks guys

1. just man up and ask for the rigs. Here in the states, the worst thing they can do is say no. But no pharmacist wants a whole back story or anything, nor do you need to provide one.

2. If you're using a 1 mL syringe, I'd say use about 1.25 to 1.5 mL water. You're not going to be able to suck that all up back into the rig anyway since some of it is going to absorb into the pill binders and the cotton. Thats why I use extra.

3. And then, yes, you draw the water up through the cotton to filter your shot. Protip, you might want to filter your shot twice if you're using cotton. I guess here is where I should tell you that micron filters are better, but since you'd have to mailorder them and you're going to do this with cotton anyway, filter the shot twice.

you have to take off the tourni BEFORE you inject.
if it's still on you run the chance of blowing out a vein.

And pallidamors, I will filter the shot twice, how should I go about doing that though? I'm sorry the whole IV thing is really new to me. Also, I just found out the needle exchange program comes to my neighbourhood on thursdays which is tomorrow, perfect timing! I am hoping they may sell filters otherwise I'll continue with the cotton ball technique, they should help me out with some advice anyway. One more thing, I have Oxynorm 20mg capsules which have a very nice fine powder inside, what do you guys think about combining the oxycodone with the hydromorphone IV?
