Best opiate analgesic in your opinion?

SWIM has been prescribed 20mg oxycodone IR's and 2mg hydromorphone, both oral and have been taking these for a month now. SWIM has found that his tolerance has increasingly gone up very fast and is looking for another opiate in the mean time while the oxy and dilaudid tolerance dies down a bit. SWIM has the opportunity to see a doctor to be prescribed whatever opiate analgesic he likes, which is why SWIM would like your opinions.

SWIM finds oxycodone to be a very nice fast acting drug however does not last long, as well as hydromorphone does not last very long either. SWIM swallows his oxycodone's, ranging from 40-80mg and insufflate's his hydrmorphone ranging from 8-12mg. SWIM likes these both very much but is looking for something with a bit more of a kick, something that will produce just that bit more euphoria and body high. Just a note as well, SWIM will not even consider IV of any opiate medication, only oral and insufflate, maybe rectal from time to time.

Also, SWIM does not want to try any transdermal patches, he would just like to stick to the pills. SWIM also does not like morphine or MS-contin.

So, what is out there that will give swim a good buzz like the oxy and hydromorph? SWIM have been quite interested in oxymorphone, fentora etc. Also, SWIM does not live anywhere where hydrocodone is available. Thanks guys.

Not much, oxy and hydromorph are up there with the top recreational opiates... try some oxymorphone if it's available in Australia (isn't in Canada yet so I dunno about there) or some good ol' heroin but I remember hearing about the ridiculous prices you guys have for H down there. How do you take your opiates usually? Orally?

You are already taking the best, IMO. BTW, we don't SWIM here. You might take that advice before the sharks come out.

Agreed, you've already got the best. I've never been able to even get a buzz off anything less potent than oxy, even before I got deep into opiates.

fentanyl is good as a pain reliever when given approiate dose but is this for pain or for catching a buzz if its for a buzz i wouldnt recommend abusing fentanyl i think oxy is best for buzz if you dont want heroin must be nice to have such understanding doctor

yeah, as said, you've already got the best out there. Dilaudid is on the top of my list along w/ oxy. Oxymorphone I'd like to try.
I mean, other than those you're left with patches and morphine varieties: which you aren't fond of. So, you're shit out of luck ! ;)

instead of simply agreeing with what everyone else has said, which I do, I wanted to put in my .02 on oxymorphone. My friend is presribed oxymorphone 10's (he is 20 yrs old, has a brittle bone disease and had to get his hip replaced when he was 18 ). He takes these primarily and uses hydro 7.5's for breakthru. As a pain patient, I think he finds them to be pretty good so if that's the route you're going then try them out. I used them recreationally. I don't think they are that great to be honest. They don't last very long, they clog my nose up and the withdrawal, while shorter, is more intense than oc's, roxi. Some people Ive talked to love them, but personally Id rather get some oc's. sounds like you got a pretty bitchin' situation with your doc tho. are you a chronic pain patient or someone with nice connects?

cool thanks guys, i've always wanted to try oxymorphone so i might as well give it a shot :) what is a good starting dosage for opana?

I like how SWIM is used throughout the first post, and then you thank everyone and say "I will give it a shot"

ughhh

I am a pain patient suffering from epididymitis however I do exaggerate my pain a lot, but might as well while I have the chance right! the oncologist I am seeing is the one that will give me anything I want, she actually asks me flat out what I want :)

For pain, oxycodone or oxymorphone.

For overall enjoyment, I actually prefer hydrocodone over oxycodone. When it comes to opioids, I enjoy the euphoria while also feeling more active and able to stay awake (I don't like to nod.) The sort of "out of it" nodding feeling that oxy gives me is less enjoyable than hydro.
