My dog aint well no more...hes old and is slowly startin to die. I can tell he is sufferin because he wont eat and cries at the foot of my bed all night...sometimes he has accidents and gets ashamed.

I remember in the good old dayz(German Shep btw) when me and my homies would come back from raves and smoke with him in the room and he would always get baked 2nd hand. always had a big goofy grin and would roll around and play with us....

I want to get him high. YES I said it. My dog is sufferein and I aint got money to put him down, I want him to relax and spend his last dayz a good.

Animals have a MUCH lower tolerence...I was thinking about either pressure bakin with him in the room again but I dont know if its too much smoke fer him at his age...If I can get him to eat I might use cnnibutter to make him something edible...

Im out of ideas.. . I just dont want him to suffer.
 
if you can afford weed and canna butter you can afford to do the humane thing and have him taken to the vet and put down peacefully.

If your friend is responding well to being dosed, I've got nothing but respect for you.

I'd think the oral ROA is the best idea; much better pain relief.
 
Agreed, if you can afford marijuana , you can have your dog put down and no longer have your dog have to feel ashamed for things it can not control. No one wants there dog to be in pain...

But, Im guessing it helps >you< to get (your dog) high...

you''ll prob get quite a few flames, talking shit, just do whats best for the dog...
In all reality, blowing smoke in its face may help sleep and eat for a few hours, but , in the long run?

You know your dog better than anyone here, Hopefully you treat it well. In his last doggie days...

Dog will eat cannabutter.
I remember I made cannabutter for the first time like 2-3 months ago, and my dogs got into the goo of the weed butter and water, they ate too much, and tripped the hell out, so becareful if dosing with cannabutter, as dogs can EASILY slip into having an awful time .

Likely not a good idea, however if you are going to do it anyway, keep in mind that animals weigh much less than you and have no tolerance to cannabis. It will not take much. You do not want to send your ol' friend on a bad trip.

I am sorry to hear about this. If your dog is in that much pain, then perhaps it is time to put him to sleep forever. It does not cost $485 to put an animal to sleep.

If you are getting quoted anything over $200 you're getting taken. You should be able to have it done for a quarter of the 485. jackjones is right.
 
I got my dog high last night, blew two hits through his nose lol, he was fine.

I don't see what's wrong with getting dogs high, they usually just chill out and lay down like they normally do.

I don't see nothing wrong with it, I wouldn't want to put my animal down unless I knew it was in pain.
 
This is an ethical dilemma. It is wrong to get animals high for the same reason that it is wrong to get a child high - they are not equipped with complex thought processes and defense mechanisms to be able to understand and cope with what could be an overwhelming high, and the experience could be traumatizing.

I think we all know the medical aspects of cannabis, and also know it is a relatively harmless substance (physically). You have to ask yourself - are you truly planning on dosing your pet because she/he is in pain, or for other reasons?

That is seriously expensive dude, borderline ridiculous. I worked at a vet for years and for euthanasia we'd charge about $50. Does that $485 include cremation where you get the ashes back in a little wooden box? Or is it literally the fee for the euthanasia injection and the vet's time?
I'd ask around a few different places, even the SPCA or other charity groups. You can get a MUCH better price than that. It's worth it to put your friend out of pain and misery, he is obviously not happy to be here any more.

In regards to giving him marijuana for pain relief, I would focus more on trying to find a price you can afford for his euthanasia, rather than bothering with getting him high.

No-one is a "specialist" in euthanasia, it is a really simple task. I was a vet nurse for years and even I have done it on many MANY occasions, perfectly safely and pain-free and peacefully for the animal. He is lying to you if he is telling you he's charging that much for euthanasia because he's a "specialist".

It is extremely unethical and immoral to get your pets high. They have no choice in the matter so you're essentially forcing it upon them. And you have no proof whatsoever that they are "enjoying it". It is far more likely that they are hating it and are extremely confused and scared by the effects.

Don't do it.

my brother has a german shepard and a mut shithead fuckstick dog. the shepard is the best dog ever. he never does anything wrong and is always well behaved. i usually put my cigarette near them if i want them to leave and not put their wet noses on me. good luck getting smoke close to them.

having said that i have taken many bong hits and blew it at the dogs. not so much the shepard cause i respect him and like him and hes chill.

BUT THE LITTLE SHITHEAD? FUCK HIM! i did it the last 3 nights. i just took a hit and blew it at him while he was all up in my shit. he is way too hyper at 3 or 4 am and needs to just go to sleep. i know the smoke already inhaled isn't doing shit probably and he isn't inhaling it.

trapping him and baking the room would just be wrong. they hate smoke and im sure it hurts them. if you've ever inhaled smoke thats just in the air...it usually hurts.

hes your old dog. a german shepard is a noble breed. dont waste time trying to get him stoned. i usually spend more time with my dogs when im stoned anyway petting them and playing so i would say just do that. you'll probably scare the fuck out of him and he will be weird towards you and scared for his last days here.
 
You're right, that one dub will last VERY long. So much so that you probably will never have to spend another 20 $ to buy a new one...

Im not saying that its wrong, Im not saying its right, Im just saying your dog can't tell you how he/she feels.
I've never heard of it being that price, Ive had to put animals down, the most I've ever payed was 125$...

Since the dog can't make the decision in it's best interest, you are responsible for this, it's best not to get in trouble for this. If someone calls and says theres an unhealthy looking dog, they come look, find the dog is untreated , things could get bad.

I just hope you find out you're dog gets better so we don't have to discuss this, its saddening.
 
Fuck, if my dog was suffering i would probably choose to save my money so i could put him down before buying drugs, ecstasy or ganja, whichever but i guess that's just the kind of guy i am.
 
You could put it down yourself. Its not hard. My family (not in USA) unfortunately eats dogs and I've seen plenty of them being killed with no pain. I don't know if I can write it here, so I won't.

Don't get your dog high. I feel awful that you would rather buy weed and have it probably roll around in confusion than to save your dog livings pains.

^it's different in much of the US. If he lived in an area where taking it out back with the .38 was acceptable, he would know.
 
i don't know. i doubt it. who would pay to have their dog put down then? i'm sure there is a reasonable charge. maybe you can just drop a dog off and claim it is not yours, hope that they will immediately euthanize it. but maybe OP does not just want to drop his dog off at a free shelter and wonder how its last days will go until the get to it. and that is not doing it yourself, anyways. dont get me wrong, i am not arguing that there is no reasonable way for the OP to have his dog humanely put down.
 
You might be able to find a clinic that will do it for free, such as the ASPCA. I love German Shepherds, they're beautiful dogs.

These dogs generally go down painfully (something usually related with the legs). My friend's dog always fell down because he was so weak before he died, he was a GSD. He would just try to walk up to you, but fall down. It was really sad.

I wouldn't advise sticking to marijuana. We have no idea how it might effect him, or if stops the pain. It doesn't always stop my pain. I remember I had some back aches from hunching over, I smoked a lot of weed and still had it.
