This thread is a bit old, but reading this SWIM
HAD to respond and share his story. SWIM is a retired psychonaut and more into pharmaceuticals these days. If you do continue using drugs, try to astray from the pills and stick to the organic psychedelics when possible. SWIM have done almost all drugs: marijuana, LSD, amphetamines, meth, cocaine, ketamine, DXM, shrooms, ecstasy, 2C-I, 5-MEO-DMT, salvia, opiates, benzos (roofies, klonopin, ativan, valium, xanax), barbiturates, oxycontin, soma, etc. SWIM has mixed and matched these drugs in large doses (e.g. 'hippie flip' shrooms + MDMA). Anyway, the point is SWIM apparently knows his stuff, should have given you the compliment of what wasn't tried (smaller list) ... since he has spent well over $50,000 on things in like 15+ years. Yup, SWIM knows his stuff. (Others may disagree, but I feel SWIM has much credibility in this topic given drug addiction is central to SWIM'S LIFE).
SWIM started using drugs in high school. Of course, like most, the first drug was weed. SWIM was paranoid,
SO PARANOID. SWIM accused friends putting PCP (or AJAX) on the weed. Perhaps the setting wasn't comfortable? In any case, SWIM detoured from weed and tried other "harder" drugs like shrooms and ketamine, which he found to be strong as listed ... the word was "trippy", but SWIM insisted that cannabis was the stronger of the drugs, more than LSD in it's own different way.
SWIM was tired of trying to convince his "friends" and being told, "it's all tolerance, dude". Fine. Forget hallucinations, feelings like I was going to die, panic attacks, popping in my brain, etc. Off to college, SWIM becomes a pothead (smoking on average 8 times a day by himself, chasing that paranoia and trying to conquer the feeling like some RPG). SWIM falls in love with the paranoia, arguably the drug addiction. The lifestyle was indeed fun and you get only so high in the fog, but nevertheless the racing thoughts resembled the symptoms of someone psychotic. Now SWIM smokes on occasion to enhance other drugs or tiny amount at night to relax. Ironically, an autopsy will conclude cannabis had NOTHING to do with a person's death, but like alcohol, it makes it so SWIM feels the other drugs to the point where ODing is much easier than if not smoking. SWIM believes that there are many OD cases where people have died from "hard" drugs, but the trace amounts of weed weren't considered. SWIM thinks we should investigate more on this. For example, once SWIM took some gel acid and had a great trip and was giggling and laughing and everything was perfect. Then SWIM takes one tiny hit of weed, and ... BOOM ... SWIM cannot get up. These were the early days.
In summary, tolerance does play somewhat of a role (very true), but SWIM believes THC is so complex and human personalities are so relative to each other that you cannot believe marijuana is a 'soft' drug for everyone. In fact, I still
think it's among the hardest. You probably are the <1% of the population that can't consistently smoke and chill and have a good time. It's unpredictable and unique for everyone. All in all, SWIM feels cannabis is the most 'mind alternating drug'.
SWIM is much older and wiser now, and SWIM paid for his swiss cheese brain and wisdom through trial and error with sacrifices beyond the scope of this thread. So let SWIM end with some advice to your gf ....
'Try not to inhale VERY hard. The high of cannabis is dictated based off that. Be in a comfortable setting (that might mean away from your bf altogether), and let tolerance play a role. SWIM prefers to smoke alone. And maybe try eating brownies as opposed to smoking. The paranoia is there but it's so bearable that you can actually not be curled in the corner and have lots of fun, and longer too. Ironically, some who ingest herb feel more paranoid ... go figure'.
Thanks for sharing this thread. Be safe, and take care of your health as it will come back to haunt you later. TRUST SWIM.
