A few questions on LSD

So I have been researching LSd and various other psych's for about 3-5 months now. I've done shrooms about 6-8 times, and had a little 3 day binge on K. Not K-holing, but very close and intend to K-hole the next time I do happen to snag some K.

I have only ever had one truely bad trip, and that was when I did 6 grams of the most potent shrooms I have ever seen. The trip before that was 5 grams and it was the normal laughing " Holy shit guys look at the walls" kind of trip. On the bad trip me and 3 other friends, all of us with very high doses, went to Alice in Wonderland, and right there it was a disaster. I got way into the movie and forgot that I had taken shrooms, and when I looked around me I was literally in the movie, I freaked out and through I was bleeding and kept asking a friend if I was "really here". This freaked the other 2 guys out and we all had terrible trips.

Now they both quit shrooms, one guy quit drugs 100%, the other just shrooms. But to me that bad trip was our fault the setting was horrible, but ever since the bad trip, I've been tripping more and more trying to prove I can have a wonderful trip, that just because I had one bad trip doesn't mean all will be. It is almost like that bad trip pulled me more into the world of psychs and trying to learn everything I can about myself and about the world.

I've read up on the LSD families, out of body experienced, ego death, all of that stuff, and it is what I'm searching for, but I'm also searching for a fun time, something that I can say " WOW, not only is this a great tool, that should be respected, but it is fun and I enjoy myself with these drugs."

Now I have a few questions on LSD, what is it like compaired to shrooms, I've read many threads and such about them and was wondering like, when it comes down to throughts, do shrooms or LSD tend to take you deepering into your mind, I personally don't like going to deep, but at times enjoy it greatly.

Also I was wondering what the hallucinations are like, like for example will I see something that is not there at all, or will it be like patterns and shapes moving, or for example ( a silly one but to get the point across) is it possible to see like a flying goat or elephant?

Any info anyone has that they themselves have found useful, I'd love to hear thanks.

If you havent don so already, I highly suggest reading the LSD thread, especially the first time thread: http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/showthread.php?t=371883

Im my personal experience, I find shrooms to feel more "earthy" and natural, while LSD feels very "energy" driven. I find on shrooms I can melt into the couch and be comfortable, while on LSD I feel as though I have energy that I dont know what to do with if I dont have an outlet for it. LSD kind of forces me to think more than when im on shrooms - shrooms allow my thoughts to come and go - where on LSD I find myself constantly thinking a mile a minute.

Shrooms arent very visual for me, but they do cause things to appear as though they are breathing. LSD is very colourful especially creating bright green and red visuals. I have only experienced intense visuals from LSD when I took 3 hits + piracetam. I have only experienced an actual hallucination in which I saw a person move around who wasnt there - so yes I would say that hallucinations are possible on LSD.

Personally I prefer LSD over shrooms because I find that shrooms take my emotions on a rollercoaster ride - where on LSD I am more analyitcal and I can take a step "outside myself" to view my life from a different point of view.

I hope that this is some help to you and helps shed some light on LSD vs. Shrooms - happy tripping.

Thanks YS.

This has been covered a lot. LSD vs. Mushrooms comparison

IME LSD is more positive and light, yet can still be incredibly deep when the conditions are right.

Mushrooms are like a pile driver to the soul. Much more deep and ego shattering. I never take mushrooms lightly. In fact I don't really like them. They've given me some very hard but rewarding experiences. That said LSD is much more pleasant of an experience, something I can enjoy.

It's hard to compare the two, they are both very different. People think that because they are in the same category (hallucinogens) that they are essentially the same thing. This is not true.

To put it one way: PB & J sandwiches and turkey sandwiches are both in the same general food category, yet the experience is very different. You won't know what you will prefer until you have tried both.

Here are the descriptions I've posted on some similar threads: 1, 2, 3. Personally I prefer LSD as it seems to supercharge my brain, allowing me to think and make complex connections between thoughts/experiences at lightning speeds. Shrooms are fun, I feel like they have much of the mental haze I associate with very strong indica strains of cannabis and more of an organic feel visually, with natural fractal type patterns (ex. tree branches), wavy lines, and lack of symmetry. LSD, on the other hand, reminds me of a clear headed sativa strain (you'll still feel a bit hazy, but the energizing effects tend to outweigh it) and has more of a computer/digital/alien feel visually (it's difficult to describe), it seems to produce a lot of symmetry (lots of kaleidoscope like effects), very detailed pattern overlays, and lots of straight lines. Honestly, I've experienced feelings I generally associate with shrooms on LSD and vice versa, but this is the best I can describe the differences from my experiences. Hope it helps and happy tripping! :D

Here's a report (http://www.erowid.org/experiences/exp.php?ID=259) that has a really good description of the differences between lsd, mushrooms and mescaline. here's what I think sums it up the best:

"Shrooms are sort of like being thrown into a Peewee’s playhouse episode, running around laughing and jumping & acting uninhibited, acid is like being thrown into a bright intense Japanese anime cartoon where you have no idea what is going on (if your American of course), and mescaline would be like being thrown into Scooby Doo.....there’s a mystery to be solved, an adventure underway, an elaborate expedition."

i agree 100% with LSD being a speedy, witty, edgy mental zone as opposed to shroomy madness.. however - in my recollection the visuals are more the same than different.. the body and mind feel is different.. i think shrooms hit my stomach and make me feel like a fungus through my whole body.. heh..

I second that...haha.

I don't think LSD should be so difficult to deal with if you've done Shrooms and K before.. Personally I find K an endlessly bigger mindfuck than LSD, even the highest dose trip I've ever had which must have been pushing 1mg was less intense than Ketamin is for me.
