vaporizer worth the money?

I don't smoke herb that often sometimes just a few times a month or only on weekends. Would it be worth it for me to get a vaporizer?

Can you use the same amount of herb in a vape that you'd use in a one hitter or bat like one of those metal cigarettes?

I'm looking at the box type vaporizers that have the whips/tubes and adjustable temperature as I can't afford the Volcano brand.

Does using a vaporizer get you higher than smoking herb does? Or higher than eating it?

I've seen wooden vaporizers like the Purple days and Aromazap brands and they look very nice with the wood but you can't adjust the temp on them and I could just get a box type vape where I can adjust the temp for the same price.

Are there any brands of vapes to avoid buying? Ones that are not worth the money that not that good at all?

Every device (whether it be a vape, bong, burb, one-hitter, pipe, waterfall, gravity, etc..) gives you a different high. vapes are more of a body high, because it only burns the THC, as opposed to other devices also giving you the CBN and other psychoactive chemicals. so the high can be one of your main criteria for deciding whether to buy a vape or not

If you're worried about the effect on your lungs, then buy a vape, otherwise, if you only burn a few times every month, then its probably best if you get a cheap device, or maybe just makeshift a waterfall bong (hella easy, lemme know if you need instructions on how to make one)

if you are going to get a vaporizer, don't get a box vape. i've heard that they kinda suck. i'm not sure of the price range you're looking at, but you can get an Arizer Extreme for $220 on Ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290419645888&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT It's BETTER than a $600 volcano.

i just got mine about a week ago. i smoke everyday though, so it's more worth it to me. i say it's definitely worth it.

Can you use the same amount of herb in a vape that you'd use in a one hitter or bat like one of those metal cigarettes?
i use a bong when i smoke, but i use about the same amount of weed in the vape. i could probably use less and get just as high. a one hitter isn't enough for me.

Does using a vaporizer get you higher than smoking herb does? Or higher than eating it?
probably not higher than eating, but most agree that it gets you higher than smoking. but it's a DIFFERENT type of high (no CBN or CBD - just THC) i think it's more of a head high than a body high. i get the body high from smoking, but when i vape i get a major head change but still feel clear headed (kinda)
so it's hard to say. and it all depends on how much you smoke or vape or eat

Are there any brands of vapes to avoid buying? Ones that are not worth the money that not that good at all?
yea, the box type ones :)

I don't know what model your talking about but I have heard that the volcano is definitely worth the money.

I don't want to spend $539 on a Volcano since you're just paying for a heating element, a valve, and a bag.

$539 isn't pocket change and you could buy lots of stuff with that amount of money, and what if I prefer smoking herb to vaporizing it?

Personally, I think a vaporizer is an excellent purchase. I bought one around a year and a half ago and couldn't be more happy with the decision. Mine is just a cheap Vapir One, but it's definitely my favorite way to consume on a regular basis. Personally I think it provides a better high than smoking, the only piece I've had that compared was a 2.5ft blue dot with two 4-armed tree percs that, unfortunately, wasn't nearly as durable. Some careless person left it on the windowsill with a heavy ash catcher in the down-stem and it fell, snapping both perc stems, and the down-stem/elbow. Anyway, back on topic, I used to smoke several times a day, so it was definitely a worthwhile purchase, but even now I'm happy that I purchased it (I rarely smoke anymore). What Psychonaut16 was saying doesn't make sense as it's CBD that tends to give the body high and THC that gives the head high. Personally, I still sense the body high with the vape, but the high definitely feels more spacey and focused to the head, which I prefer. I would suggest any type of electric vape, I don't like the butane variety. I'd say the box type vape is a good idea, I like the idea of the whip, my biggest complaint is that the Vapir One is constantly vaping after you insert the screen, whereas the box vapes allow you to pull the weed out between hits. I would also suggest finding one that allows you to change the temperature though, as most set temperature types heat to 400°, whereas I've found that 355-360° seems to provide a better smoke and better high. The nice thing about the Vapir One is that it's great for hitting in the car on trips, which prevents the car from reeking of weed if you get pulled over (provided you put down the windows for a minute). Hope this helps, and good luck on the search!

Sorry, I got off topic in the last post, I'll try to better answer your questions:

Would it be worth it for me to get a vaporizer?

Yes.

Can you use the same amount of herb in a vape that you'd use in a one hitter or bat like one of those metal cigarettes?

Yes, depending on brand you can use as much or more.

I'm looking at the box type vaporizers that have the whips/tubes and adjustable temperature as I can't afford the Volcano brand.

I haven't used a box type, but it should be essentially the same as mine. However, mine uses screens which can't be removed easily whilst vaping and uses a digital temperature set instead of the analogue type most box vapes use. Personally, I like the idea of being able to remove the buds between hits (especially for someone who's new to vapes, as you'll probably be coughing a lot between hits the first few times), and the analogue temperature set shouldn't make a difference as long as you can judge the 355-360° range.

Does using a vaporizer get you higher than smoking herb does? Or higher than eating it?

I definitely believe that vaping gets you higher than smoking, though not as high as eating (though I'm notorious for making really strong brownies, 1oz+ per tray).

I've seen wooden vaporizers like the Purple days and Aromazap brands and they look very nice with the wood but you can't adjust the temp on them and I could just get a box type vape where I can adjust the temp for the same price.

I've been out of the vape market for a while, so I'm not up to speed on these brands. Though, as I said before, I highly recommend buying a vape with a temperature control.

Are there any brands of vapes to avoid buying? Ones that are not worth the money that not that good at all?

No idea, I've been out of the market for a while. Sorry.

Again, good luck with your search!

you won't be coughing if you buy a GOOD vaporizer. and i vape at a little higher of a temp. 200 C, or like 393 F

I have a box vape that I got for 60 bucks and it works quite well for my purposes, because I'm a heavy smoker but I'm not much of a fan of the high from vaping, it always seems lacking to me, so I only vape on occaision. I'd say if you only smoke occaisionally it's probably worth it to buy one of the little box vaporizers. In no way are they as good as the high end ones, but they get the job done and don't cost a shit load of money so they're good for those of us that are poor or don't vape much.

Vaping won't make you cough once you get used to it (after a few times), but if you've been smoking heavily for several years as I had been when I first bought my vape, the hot air makes your lungs tickle and you will most likely cough. I've seen first timers cough after hitting cheaper vapes like mine, as well as fancy high priced models like the volcano and the vapezilla. Cost and quality have nothing to do with the difference of feeling.

Honestly DrunkardsDream, I think you'll be just as happy with this vape as any $500+ model, especially as you'll only be using it a few time a month. Every ~400th screen you'll want to open it up and clean it out with q-tips and rubbing alcohol, and every ~50-100th screen you'll want to replace the hose and soak the metal funnel and rubber sleeve (easily removable) in rubbing alcohol and epsom salt, but, ultimately, the cleaning process is pretty simple.

Thanks for the info everyone. I found a web forum about vaporizers fuckcumbustion.com and I'm going to do more research.

I'm also going to save up money since I don't want a cheap vape that doesn't work or that you can't control the temp on.

My best friend developed Colon Caner at 15 yr old. His mom was cool about it so they got him Medical Marijuana.

A "Hot Box" vaporizer, they work amazingly. It worked great for him, slowed the cancer growth by 60% and it looks awesome.
