hmm... Xanax or alcohol tonight...

So a few days ago I was prescribed an antidepressant and Xanax for bad anxiety. Tonight I will be at home which I don't particularly enjoy (family drama) but there's no plans and I have work tomorrow...

I feel tempted to buy a case of beer but not sure how that will mix with the antidepressant... don't want to mess anything up or stop the pills from doing their job... does anyone know if alcohol has a cancellation effect on the meds (Pristiq)?

Mabye I'll just take some Xanax instead... then if the family starts fighting oh well I'll probably end up falling asleep anyway.
 
I would just drink. Im sure it wont have an effect on the antidepressant. I have bad experiences with xanax and I believe im addicted if you read my other thread. Only if you really need to sleep take the xanax, my family sucks to hahaha so I guess i started taking them the same way. Just dont drink on the xanax, even worse times. Hope this helps.
 
well... right after I popped two Xanax's I read this... but... I did read your other post and know the situation... over a year ago I was addicted to the benzo Clonazepam and withdrew from it on my own (did my own taper), and the withdrawal was horrible... the physical symptoms went away though but to be honest my anxiety has been horrible ever since that point, worse than before I started taking them.

But... I have learned from that. I'm spacing out the benzo doses so I don't get addicted again. Only taking them as needed.

And Xanax is one of the most horrible of the benzos to withdraw from cause of the short half-life... mabye your doctor can put you on a benzo with a longer half life to help taper easier?

how about xanax and alchohol? lol im kidding i wouldnt have anyone try this unless they have a good tolerance and are willing to have a few blacked out nights. maybe a tiny amount of xanax like .5mg and 2-3 beers could be nice for a first timer.
 
i took some xanax during the day and started drinking...
i say DONT do it! it totaly changed my thinking towards the end of the night. i was having a good time and all and as the night started coming to a end. i realized how much my thinking changed..i saw all the negatives in my life and how theres no solution to any of them and that maybe giving up on life would be the best idea..thank god i kept my mind straight and was able to sleep it off

Well, I would say posts such as the are inappropriate, they are very suspicious.

It almost seems like your a cop trying to catch a rapist, or a Please don't be offensive

In my opinion, take a bar, have a beer, and chill yourself out (whoever you realy are)

If you put it that way....

Dear ALicia (Bobby Jones "childtoucher" Riley),

THe most serious adverse reaction you would get from-lets say- one bar, 4 beers, and a little Anti-D, assuming you took it all at once, issaying things you shouldnnt say ( pissing people off), doing things you shouldnt do (drive), and ending up places you dont want to be (prison/hell).

Worst case scenerio.

PS-if rationaly assuming that alicia is a "bad person" is against the rules, then, bluelight, im sorry.
 
I felt like we were getting a play by play. The OP already made their choice to eat the Xanax right after posting. There is your answer. I figured, "or" was a smart idea since combining the 2 is asking for a black out. Yay for smart greenlighters. Certain antidepressants don't recommend drinking, but I've done it and had no bad outcomes. This is just one of those where you have to make your own call.

When I drank when I was on effexor I had a ridiculous alcohol tolerance.... anyhow I went to the bar like normal... drank like normal... then my husband picked me up drooling on myself.. When I stopped the anti depressants this stopped happening when drinking.. I have since quit drinking... Too many blacked out nights due to my scripted klonopin and xanax.. last time my husband found me naked on the couch with my clothes in our roommates bedroom.. (another female).. haha nothing happened I guess I got hot and took all my clothes off and passed out and puked the rest of the day with a 2 year old beating me in the head.... No more alcohol for me. Drinking and benzos just isnt the best option for some people.. after countless fights and run ins with the cops and other random shennanigans it just wasn't worth it to me.
