Can any one agree that Sake Sucks ass?

Fuck i have a few beers to get me in a better place and i remember my sister gave me sake for my birthday im drinking it now and wtf does this shit taste like ass or what. I warmed it up and everything but w/e its 14% hope it will get me more drunk :D
 
I hate the taste of sake too, given ive only tried 3 different kinds but I hated them all
 
Are you referring to the rice-alcohol typical of Japanese culture?

If you don't like it try to remember that basically any large brewing company will use rice for economical reasons. It definitely takes getting adjusted to, that's for sure!

the Japanese are defiantly a strong minded people to drink this shit every event at their toasts
 
I had a bad experience with cold sake after eating an obscene amount of sushi... my dad made me down it like a shot and vomit ensued...I could feel it going down in between the food.. the feeling was horrible. I do enjoy warm sake with my sushi sometimes though.
 
warm sake is pretty good with just about any brand. Really I think only slightly nicer sake (read: not gekkiekan) can be enjoyed cold, but in japan, its pretty common to drink it at room temp during summer months.

although really if you're going to drink japanese alcohol, find a store that imports Suntory whisky. you can feel like Bill Murray and it actually tastes pretty good.
 
i agree sake by itself sucks ass, expecially when its warm, but when i do the sake bombs with the ichiban beer, its not all that bad. and after two of those i get a litlle buzz, but it doesnt seem to get me drunk or last that long.. idk y that is
 
i don't hate the taste, but it feels silly using shot-sized glasses for such a low-proof alcohol and dropping them in beer like it's something real.

I think it's more for the taste.. where as Irish car bombs or Jager bombs are just to get good and fucked up. You can't just have one irish car bomb.

I like the taste of carbombs (baileys in guinness right?) and its not that high proof alcohol, but you can get through a lot of them quite quickly since you down them...

as for sake.. i'll drink it if theres nothing else ;)
 
Sushi + sake + plum wine = me puking on my date's genitalia

So yeah, in retrospect, I'd say it sux.
 
I LOVE good sake.

Sake should only be drunk warm however unless its top shelf variety....Its like Vodka. High grade potato Vodka or some Gray Goose Vodka is yummy served chilled by itself. You can sip it and go 'yum'. If you are drinking Popov or the local single charcoal filtered crap, its not going to taste very good even mixed with juice.


Did you drink it warm or cold?
