Do you use on top of your methadone/bupe?

I think it's pretty common for someone to be using on top of the opiate they are on for maint. I am not saying it's right or wrong...in my case, I got on mmt becuase I tried everything and wasn't having much luck quitting. When I was on bupe I was more jumping back and forth (bridging the gap) rather than using on top of it most of the time..I dont know, I guess I am just half not ready to quit.

I am on 80mg methadone now...I have nowhere near the urge to use like I did when I was on bupe and have barely used since I got on it...but sometimes I still find my self wanting to go through the routine of copping dope getting fire and getting high as a kite.

At 80mg methadone, I guess I feel the dope high when I get diesel..but it's def not great. Whats everyone's experince using on top of methadone?
 
When i was on methadone I pretty much stayed off the dope. Since the swap to bupe it's been quite a bit harder. Crave like a Mofo and binge a bit every payday. (Couple more days! LOL) Sorta sucks though but it is what it is.
 
when on bupe i didnt have the feeling to use, plus on bupe you can't or at least i couldnt get loaded unless i stayed clean for like a 5-7 days before hand.

On methadone, ( which btw is the devil!!! ) I would sometimes use on top of it, I stayed at about 45mg, but then realized the methadone clinic is worse then a dope dealer.

I couldnt go on vacation, I needed my meds, and the kick was horried, plus the clinic had me hooked to seeing them every day, at least with bupe or black i could load up for a vacation, or buy enough for more then 1 day at a time.
 
See this is one reason I am finding that methadone is good...I am no going to say superior to bupe or anything because they both have their strong suits.

but once you get up to a certain level dose...you just can't get high off opiates..and between that and being forced to dose every day, I have found my self using a lot less.

i still wanna get high this weekend though on top of my 80mg lol

An inert substance has no soul nor goals. It is what you do with it. Reminds me of the medieval trials of donkeys or pigs which were sentenced to different punitions. Same level, man.
 
Is the question do you use opiates on top of your methadone/bupe? or do you use any other drugs on top of your methadone/bupe...? I smoke pot sometimes on top of my methadone. I've stopped taking benzos due to issues with UA'ing at the clinic, but I'll take Soma occasionally...that's pretty much it: methadone, soma sometimes, pot sometimes.
 
I never use opiates on top of my methadone: By never I mean if I do it's in VERY small amounts. For example: my methadone + 10mg oxycodone JUST for a tiny tiny tiny bit on top. A little spice.

However, I do use my anxiety meds (klonopin, xanax, or ativan) with methadone, but only as prescribed.
 
I don't have a whole hell of alot of respect for people using while on methadone or Bupe treatment.:X If your still using and think its okay, hen something is wrong. Im an asshole myself because I was on methadone for the wrong reasons. Pretty much to make others happy, like my parents. I was still using. Actually, I was even a sick enough fuck, that I drank my methadone in front of the pharmacist, then went straight to the bathroom and purged it out.:| just so I could get high. But then I was telling a friend of mine about it one day, and he said what I am saying to you.

Shame on you, if you don't want to stop using drugs, then get off the program. All you are doing is taking up a space for someone who may really want to change their life. These programs are stretched so thin, and so full, that all you are doing is taking up a space for someone who really wants to try. :!

After I had that conversation with my friend, I went in and terminated my treatment. The next day they called my little cousin, and said they had a space open up, and because of that, he is now 4 years clean. Its called karma.
 
That's how I feel as well.I would love to be on MMT,and I see people selling doses to buy Oxycontin..It kinda pisses me off.I would seriously give up all other opiates to have a structured maitenance and use it as a tool to live a normal life.I get a morphine script,but still,shooting up everyday.3-4 times a day sucks
 
I agree with you on some points...my clinic doesn't have a waiting list or slots. Most clinics are basically businesses there tryin to make profit, and want to take on as many "patients/customers" as possible.

But hey I don't think everyone who is using on his/her program is doing it just to take advantage. If someone got on methadone, chances are their addiction was pretty bad. Addiction is hard to break...even the people at the meth clinic know that. Hell when I signed up they gave me the address and information for the local needle exchanges and outright said "of course we want our patients to stop using all together but we know thats not always a reality so here take this even if you think you won't need it-give it to a friend."

I was still using when I first got on methadone but it helped me to cut down, now I barely use, the last time I used was 2 weeks ago (used for 3 nights) and the last time before that was almost 2 weeks ago.

Now that I am at 80mg I feel fine throughout the day..no high wahtsoever really but I am very stable..not crying and shit. And now it's pretty hard to get high (i'd imagine..having tried using at 80mg, so I don't even think it's worth it).


Has anyone on here had any experience using at 80mg or more of meth?




Also, I am curious to find out about the use of other drugs too. I only really use weed but the occasional benzo. Clniics wont let you get take-homes if you use weed right? But they wont kick you out?

^ Please don't call methadone "meth", it's confusing for the people who don't know the drugs and it doesn't do any good to "the cause".
 
^ No problem man, it's just that some people might mix up the two drugs, and the truth is they are two totally different drugs.
Like when some british newspaper call mephedrone "methadrone", just to confuse things more and then wikipedia follows them and then the people think methadone and mephedrone are the same drug.

I'm on MMT, been on it for about 5 months now and I am on 87 mg. I still use dope very occasionally, but recently have been trying to cut it out all together b/c I only use about once a month anyways and I feel barely anything from shooting 4 bags. I do however smoke pot, take my prescribed adderall, xanax and baclofen. Also I occasionally take 2-8 10 mg methadone pills bought from friends and try to keep some in case I want to go to a music festival or vacation or something where I couldnt get guest dosed or take homes. I was on sub previously and could never get in the groove of taking it daily, either used it as a last resort or ended up using on top of it or instead of it.
 
For me its useless to use other opiates on top of my daily MMT dose because the methadone just blocks it out and I don't feel it. I've tried, believe me I've tried, but I can't get high on other opiates when I'm on methadone. Just doesn't happen. So like I said, I'll stick to the occasional Soma or toke of the marijuana, as my current clinic does not UA for either one =)
