fucked up. Pretty crazy stuff goin on down there in Mexico. I have no desire to visit or vacation in Mexico. Ever.
 
Yeah if you go to CNN right now ( or anytime today ) they are talking about Mexico's Drug Cartels and how Hillary Clinton and others are traveling to Mexico.... i despise Hillary Clinton

There's one cartel that literally is the military, trained by US Special forces, too. They're called los zetas

Dude, the chances that you are a victim of violent crime are very slim and its a great place.
I lived in Mexico for about a year in '03-'04. It's a beautiful country and the people and culture are great IMO. I'm a gringo, but I can pass for a whiter looking Mexican. Never had any problems. Vacationed there a dozen times or more. You have to be careful as you should in any foreign country, but unless you are involved in shady shit or unlucky, you will almost certainly be ok.
 
- The pre-dawn discovery of two bodies cut into pieces and shoved into two black bags brought a tragic end Monday to a search for two missing police officers in the southern state of Guerrero.

Law enforcement officials say the bagged body parts were found at 3:15 a.m. (5:15 a.m. EDT; 0915 GMT) outside police headquarters in Guerrero's capital city, Chilpancingo.

One of the victims was a regional commander, the other a state police officer. Notes written on yellow cards were attached to the bags, but police refused to disclose what they said. Drug cartel killers frequently attach messages to bodies.

In the nearby resort of Acapulco, police later found another two mutilated bodies and a threatening message outside the house of the city's former deputy traffic police chief.

los zetas was originally a group of 15 or so mexican special forces that defected and sold their services to the gulf cartel. They were the enforcers for the Gulf cartel but have since grown to be their own force. The majority of the original members are thought of have been killed or imprisoned. Los Zetas are now a different beast and there is speculation over what role they play as a group. I suspect they are a "cartel" in their own right by now and their is evidense of them operating transnationally. On the other hand, some think people are just using the name to strike fear as the original group is all dead.
 
Why do they have M4s? That's an American rifle. Last time I was in Mexico they were using the G3 knockoffs.
