Speed and heart attack

Just had some stents put in after a heart attack, got heaps of advice on fitness and diet but couldn't get much info on the use of recreational drugs...........obviously the go would be complete abstsinence but I would like to know how much if any damage speed, coke, weed ha ha , ok most of the good shit, would cause to the old ticker? Sorry in advance if this is posted in the wrong section.
 
speed and coke stress the heart to the max, and the only death resulting from smoking weed that i know of, was actually a heart attack. Pot makes my heart rate go pretty high. Dare say you probably shouldn't be taking anything recreationaly. I'm not a doctor though, and you should know your body.
 
I would be very careful of all stimulants. You'll probably never be able to use them again without a very high risk of heart attack.
 
No, smokes, salt, butter, pork chops, drugs.................wow, good thing I like tea and dry buscuits!!

Pretty much any drug that increases your heart rate, or puts stress on CV system.

I find LSD to be calming, so maybe that, but if it's a DOX or something else, the body load on them can be bad.

I think taking anything that increases pressure on the heart is a serious bad thing.

We're not going to make you feel better in taking drugs when the risk is so high, you're not going to find excuses here. You should really just ask your doctor! "Hey doc, what's the risk with drugs, i.e speed?"

He'll tell you what you need to here!
 
The only time i thought i was gonna have a heart attack was on MDMA (350mg) dropped at once and also acid. As soon as the acid kicked in my heart started beating so fast i was holding onto the chair panicking.

Speed and coke def puts a massive strain on the heart. Most stims do as they speed up ur system.

Ha ha good pick up, maybe I was trying to get get this forum to make me feel good about my impending drug use.
I did ask the Doc about drug use, he kinda left me in limbo. His answer was no drugs at all, which I was happy to accept, then he said he would have given me the same advice even if I hadn't had a heart attack, his feeling is all street drugs are high risk and are indiscriminant killers.
I found it hard to push how much damage speed would a heart after that. Alcohol is not an option for me eventhough they say I can drink, maybe I should start a new thread asking which drug puts the least strain on the heart?
 
^Not wanting to rain on your parade.. but you have been given another chance with your life :) Please take care with the choices you are about to make when it comes to taking drugs :) A new lease on life is what you have so enjoy it and make the most of it :) Hope it all works out for you %)

Pretty much avoid all CNS stimuliants. Meth/speed will be very hard on your heart.
Cocaine also has local anesthetic proptities so its also cardiotoxic.
Many psychedelic drugs I don't think have a problem on the heart, however there can be great strain from anxiaty due to a scary trip.

Maybe drugs of the Benzodiazepine class, such as Valium or Xanax. Can't drink booze on them. Maybe opiates will be less stressful on your heart.

Thing is, I have a hard time thinking of drugs that wont have some stress on your heart. Even certin foods can be nasty on your ticker.

How are you health wise? Are you fat? How old are you and what not?

Hey I kinda touched by such everyones concern, the general community could learn a lesson here.....anyhow I'm 50, played footy, did triathlons, ironmans ect when younger ha ha on the outsid I've still got an 18 yr old body 81kg .......anyhow my disease is genetic, not much I could do about it.

Yes I have got a second chance, doing drugs might seem so stupid for me at this age, and I agree it is, but xtc, speed gave me a second chance with my beautiful wife, we had it for the first time last year, and well, it brought us back together, long story, don't want to boring but in a way it saved our lives.....life is short, believe me I don't take it for granted.
 
^Its nice to hear that xtc gave your wife and you a second chance :) Also glad to hear you kept yourself fit in this day and age.. most seem to let themselves go! Im touching on your age but 10yrs short and have wondererd myself how the body would take having drugs :\.. Like you said they can bring you close together and thats the main reason for me and my wife to be take anthing these days, not into the party scene ! Id just be worried about the anxiety factor here for you is all... :)

Shroomz would be okay, would they not? I think it's time to go picking ;) They are hella fun :P

Also you should consider checking out www.erowid.org if you want to check a specific drug they have a bucket load of information of affects and side affects of nearly everything.

But please be careful :)
 
I see the reason you wish to take them is to feel the magic between you and your misses. Which is fine. However I feel a trip or holiday or even a weekend away to a BnB enjoying a glass of wine and watching the sun set would bring you just as close.

Waits to be trolled.

I once thought I had to take drugs with my partner to have that clossness that xtc brings you. But all those chemicals are in your brain allready, and with the right environment it is possible to feel just as close, with a greater sense of clarity, as when your on xtc. It's just harder. Also the high is shorter, but sometimes a lot more satisfying.

This is the decision I have made recently, and with your new lease on life, maybe it's one you should consider also.
 
I would probably avoid psychedelic drugs too - LSD has always had a speed-like effect on me... and to be honest even choof can do wild things to the pulse; although, this is when it is consumed with speed/meth as well.

Sorry to hear about the condition :( I can't imagine how much it would suck having to cut back/avoid indulging because of something beyond your control..
 
Sativa dominant cannabis strains definitely make your blood pressure skyrocket on the come up.
 
^ I know that weed does make your blood pressure go up on the come up

But I didn't think shrooms had the same affect, If only I had some shroomz now, I'd do a test right now and let u guys know how it went lol.
