Ok so i took 3 mucinex pills today (180 mg of DXM) and later on when i was coming down i drank two bottles of the new MARY JANE drink. which has passionflower and kava kava in it, now i'm feeling weird, will i be ok since the Passionflower has a very mild MAIO in it? please answer i'm worried :(
 
tbh in all the reports of passionflower i've never heard anyone say the concentration of MAOI-alkaloids is high enough to make it a powerful drug.

from what i'm reading about this "mary jane" (new one to me) the main ingredient is kava kava, with the passionflower mainly as a flavorant.

keep an eye on your blood pressure and heart rate, but it seems to me like you'll be ok. i would avoid mixing these things in the future though
 
Ok because for a little bit i felt cold/hot and like shaky as hell, then i looked it up and i was like, oh crap haha, i took the dxm at like 3:30 today, and drank the drink at like 8-9, i didn't think anything of it just because well, it's a new soda they advertise at 7-11 lol
 
Ok cool thanks, ya i had no idea passionflower was a MAOI, i honestly didn't think they would make that into a drink because people take cough syrup ALL the time to deal with colds and stuff.
So i should be fine and i can go to sleep now?

Holy shit! Are they selling an MAOI as a soft drink in 7-11 ?

This is extremely risky, how was this approved at all?
The scenarios for disaster are endless.

And then they go on to schedule and control 5-MeO-DMT. And maintain their absurd control over safe plant drugs such as cannabis.
They say they control drugs for social and safety reasons and then they allow an MAOI to be advertised as a "soft drink legal high"?

What if some kid chugs five in a day and then decides he's gonna roll on a couple of MDxx? Instant ER! Then they'll blame it all on the MDxx..... fuckers.

Such disrespect and hipocrisy towards their fellow man!
 
I've had the same drink on things that would go bonkers with an maoi with no ill effects.
the drink itself is more kava centered. passionflower has very low traces of maoi, and I doubt the drink had much of an effect.

I think you might have just freaked yourself out. Drinking cough syrup has more physical effects than many other drugs IME.

180 mg of dxm isnt a daunting dose either. mucinex also has non dxm active ingredients. the other ingredients in any cough thing are the real kicker. Triple C's and I have had some less than splendid adventures. Same to anything with acetaminophen. I still refuse any pks with ace in them to this day due to less than good choices in the past.

I make my liver exercise.

ohhh and I just remembered my icon is a passionflower. they are ridiculously gorgeous.

your probably only feeling weird because of other things in mucinex. i remeber once i was stocking up on some dxm, normally i just use robo cough gels, which the only active ingrediant is dxm. but i didnt have enough so i snatched some mucinex from the convient store just to add a little to it. it has quite a bit of dxm, but also had guaifenesin. when you take high amount of that it makes you feel sick as fuck, and the mucinex i looked at had shitloads of it in one tab. So you shouldnt worry, its not going to kill you. But thats one bad thing about dxm, itself even in pretty high doses isnt bad for you. But the other active ingradiants that come with it are often the ones that damage you

Passionflower is hardly a MAOi. No effects that I've ever noticed.

Cigarettes are MAOi's, and found next to yon Mary Jane.

Ok, I guess I'll calm down. I Knew very little about passionflower (besides it's awesome beauty) but have done more homework.

I was just frightened by the idea of an MAOI soft drink, but if it's a negligible effect from the flower, I guess there ain't no real danger there.

I was already imagining terrible headlines.

I was also thinking : What's next? SSRI popsicles?
