Corey Haim Found Dead

Posted Mar 10th 2010 8:08AM by TMZ Staff

Corey HaimActor Corey Haim died this morning of an apparent overdose -- possibly accidental -- according to LAPD. He was 38.

Police tell us they were called to St. Joseph's hospital in Burbank, CA shortly before 4AM PT to investigate.

Haim shot to fame in the 80s -- when he co-starred in a number of films, including "The Lost Boys," with Corey Feldman.

Haim reportedly suffered a drug-induced stroke in 2001 and was rushed to the UCLA Medical Center.

Haim also reportedly was in and out of rehab 15 times, but cleaned up in 2004 after moving to Toronto.

I started on the downers which were a hell of a lot better than the uppers because I was a nervous wreck. But one led to two, two led to four, four led to eight, until at the end it was about 85 a day — the doctors could not believe I was taking that much. And that was just the Valium — I’m not talking about the other pills I went through".(1)

Eeeps :\ Great shame. Lost Boys was a banging flick ^_^

I didn't see it posted in this forum. :D

yeah, neither did I.
but there are a few posters on here that routinely chime into threads for no other reason than to scold the OP's by "instructing" them to do a search or make some other snide remark.
a few posters seem to be on this perpetual campaign for modship and its getting really fuckin annoying.
this needs to be reined in, phrozen.
i've seen some greenlighters who are attacked by such posters for "not searching" before making a thread.
it wasn't this bad a mere couple of years ago.

Apparently he had been taking a cocktail of Vicodin, Valium & Soma according to his fiancee and mother. No one knows the exact tox results yet. I'm fairly certain the above drugs had something to do with it.

They don't know if its an OD. It could be just from the years of drug abuse his body took over the years and couldn't handle it anymore. It said his doctor put him on a new regimen of meds to help with addiction. Sounds to me like he took his normal dose and his body couldn't handle it.

Los Angeles County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter says that when emergency personnel arrived at Haim’s apartment building near Burbank Wednesday morning, the former 80s heartthrob was alive, but weak and complaining of flu-like symptoms. He felt weak, got out of bed, and fell to his knees.

But yeah, I don't think it was an OD. It was the morning and it's not like he just fell the fuck out, he was sick and then croaked.

If it's a duplicate thread, they're more than welcome to mention that and provide a link to the first thread. Or they could report the thread.

If they're just saying "already posted," then yeah, it's annoying.

Apparently he obtained an illegal oxy script. I don't know if that contributed to his death though. I'm going to watch Lucas right now because I have a thing for films made in 1986. Fuck yea.

cory feldmen was on larry kings live and said they only found pill bottles that were his and his mothers ...but fildman said he went to a new doctor resently and gave him new meds that might of been a bad cocktail with one his old ones

His former fiance was on the Jane Velez-Mitchell show on HLN/CNN and told JVM that Corey would take upwards of 50-60 pills a day. If it wasn't an overdose I don't know how his organs could take that kind of abuse.

This can't be an opiate OD; naloxone would shuttle him right back into the world of the living if the paramedics got to him while he was still conscious.

Sometimes people just die. In Brittney Murphy's case, it was iron-deficiency anemia (I don't buy the pneumonia thing as the lab concluded the staph colonies in her lungs were a post-mortem phenomenon).

We'll see what it was with Haim. Sometimes people just die
