A Disc (Firsbee) Golf Thread

the Ohio days are starting to get warm and beautiful, I think I am going to go for the first time this season very soon.

wow, I had no idea people took this game so seriously. different frisbees for different shots? whoa.

haha! yeah, it's hard to imagine people taking this sport serious, but there are some big tournaments around from where I live. I take it serious in the fact that I like to talk smack to my friends (when I am lucky enough to have a good game). for the most part, it is just a great way to spend free time in a beautiful park and maybe throw down a joint while catching some rays.

I have to be careful drinking in the parks around here. they are always so busy and it always makes me feel awkward if there are kids around. so I usually just get a Four or a Sparks or something less noticeable like that.

Yep there are some pretty hardcore players. Here in Dayton there are some leagues and tourny's worth some big money. Most of the players in those tourny's are pretty skilled, I played in one and finished dead last. And I usually clean up when I play with my friends.

Axl, if you ever want to come down to Dayton, I'll put $20 down. Prolly closer to May, I've got alot of out of town dates in March and April. But hit me up late April, we'll have a game!

I was just talking smack about the 20 bucks, but it would be great to go down there for a game.

How old are you? 21 +?

or do you just not like drinkin around kids? (which is kool, nothing wrong with bein a good rolemodel)

please tell me Four isnt short for Four Loco? God those are nasty. Sparks arent too great themselves but eehhh.

Sorry, im partial to energy beers. i dont like energy drinks and i only kinda like beer so they're not for me

i like to play but i am absolutely terrible. south lake tahoe has a 27-hole public disc golf course where we play. it has a ton of trees and is, for me, pretty challenging:

I am a twenty-something young male, I just don't like to give the Park Rangers unnecessary shit to deal with. they already don't care if I smoke my jizzle (they will even partake) but some assholes like to drink and throw their cans all over our beautiful parks.

energy drinks are horrid, but my friends drink the hell outta them. one isn't so bad on a hot summer night when you don't want lug around a six-pack.

alasdairm: I can only try to ascertain the beauty of a frisbee golf park in South Lake Tahoe! frisbee golfing is one of my favorite ways to spend time with Bluelighters when they visit Ohio. it's so relaxing. how long have you been playing? sometimes it just takes a couple years to get that long drive down and a decent putt. just keep on goin' at it ;)

^^^i hear ya.

i guess its the nature of the area around here. everyone is always drinking on the course.

every hole has a trash can where u tee off so trash isnt bad on the course per se.

but the one i go to mostly is located right next to the lake. which happens to be one of the dirtiest lakes in the metroplex

far out this exists! i thought this was an invention by nintendo in their wii sports resort game.

DG ftw!

there are two really nice courses in virginia beach. one of them is on the bay. i've lost 2 discs there now on windy days. its finally starting to get nice enough to play again. hopefully i'll have a chance to get a round in this weekend.

I've gone discing once...I'm really really terrible. Then again, I hadn't thrown ANYTHING in about 8 years. The guy I'm talking to right now has been playing for about 5 years. All the holes on the course here in town are par 3, and he gets them in in 1 or 2 and he still says he sucks. Whatever.

yeah, that's what I was thinking??

question: when was your last hole in one on the disc golf course? how did you throw it? what was the shot like and how was it thrown?

I didn't get a hole in one all last season, but the season before that I got a couple. my last one was so lucky, which made it even more fun, because I threw it tomahawk straight down hill and right in the basket

i have never had a hole in one. it takes me at least 3 shots to get to the point where i am 'putting' (i.e. within 20 feet).

i know you werent asking me but as a general response:

i cant drive well enough to worry much about HiOs on the course i typically go to

but a diff park thats near by that i dont like as much is more wide open and 2 holes are rather short. go damn close one time and witnessed a HiO on another occasion but thats as close as i have come to a HiO.
