Bupe Subutex Has Gone Generic

Its not like the 3rd week of March is that far away.

And like I said....you're only luck is if the distributor your pharmacy buys from stocked up.

no thankfully 3rd week of March isn't too far away, $100 a week sucks though til then but Brose kinda scares me with his above post about 'a couple of months out of stock in FL' ? That would really suck... Guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens. I have a lead to a pharmacy that supposedly still has them, so I could be in luck until they're able to be ordered again close by.

Right now the demand is way higher than the supply. In south florida, 95% of the pharms are out of generic subutex, and they say that no more will be coming for months.

I do know of one pharm that has a supply stashed away, but once that runs out...

Does Florida have that many junkies? Never thought about it..

evidently some pharmacies still do have it in stock, the unfortunate side to this is that I will be driving 78 miles to one that does have it in stock. Lol... I guess the $20 in gas will be worth the price break for generics, it really did come out to less than 1/2 the cost!

Oh nice! 78 miles is still a *ridiculous* distance to have to drive. Is that around trip mileage, or one way?

I'm glad you at least found your medication, I'd be pissed as hell if I was unable to get a prescription refilled based on pharmacies not carrying it.

When they first came out..it seemed like CVS was first to get it last time, they will probably be first on the list this time.

You can do mail-order where you mail your prescription in and they mail the meds if local ones don't have it in stock.

I'll let everyone know what happens saturday or monday when I try and fill my script of gen subutex. I have been lucky so far so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

156 miles round trip lol! Thanks Captain, I'm happy at least I found it somewhere in this part of the state & didn't have to pay double for sure :D Good luck Stuck (lol), hope you don't have any issues either, it for now sounds like the big states are having issues on stock. Good point about CVS too, good thing I still have a partial scrip left there & hopefully it will come in there once it's available again.

Just letting everyone know I just filled my script for #42 generic subutex 1/1/10 without a single problem. Them pills are def still out there, just gotto look (I guess, I personally haven't had to search)

glad you didn't have issues! I didn't have issues either once I went 156 miles away! Lol I got the generics though & now I should be fine until the distributor restocks them :)

Yeah I am gonna need a refill like March 14 so atleast worst case scenario it'll only be one week until Roxanne starts shipping.

See for me its $15 for the generic script (any #) and 50% off brand name. So it is a huge fuckin difference to have to get brand name.

Next refill if they are out of generic and unable to order (which hasn't been a problem yet) I will just buy the bare minumum brand name subutex to get me through till I can get my next script of generic.

Glad you got your script! I wish there was like a mega database you could just search to find out every pharmacies stock...thieves would use that though lol.

P.S.

Anyone thinking of making the switch to Subutex..don't let these people convince you not to becuase it will be out of stock. Even in the WORST case scenario, it's back in stock 3rd week of March which is just around the corner..like 1 script away.

Subutex is slightly more expensive then Suboxone if you are forced to buy brand name...but IMO it's better all around anyway.

LOL the database is a great idea, I'm sure there would be MANY reasons why that couldn't happen though. You're right though, even if it weren't available at one pharmacy, KEEP trying because it is there. I was discouraged when I posted about now maybe not being the best time to switch, I just personally felt like I shouldn't have switched yet. All in all, I'm glad I did as it is a BUTTLOAD cheaper all around, and I'm sure some pharmacies stock issues will be dealt with over this next month! ;)

Yeah even though it may seem like theres a HUGE demand for Subutex...it's relatively small compared to a lot of meds out there. I have a feeling now that Roxanne knows exactly how popular their product is, we won't see this going out of stock anytime soon.

I can't remember ever hearing Suboxone was out of stock.

That's because R&B has a monopoly.

You are right about R&B..they have the market cornered. But what's that have to do with suboxone staying in stock?

My guess is that R&B made absolutely sure they would NEVER run out of suboxone. As far as generic subs, my guess is that by the end of this year a least 2 other companies will be manufacturing them, which is good for us, then there will be competitors. They'll never run out & they'll get cheaper! :)
