governments generally ruin everything, marijuana prices have stayed steady for a very long time
if weed was legalised, its just asking for a huge price jump, taxing is a cunt and certainly unnecessary
this something i would not be looking forward to, even if i dont smoke much anymore

plus, if weed was legal, wheres the fun? haha
but i am believer in one's own freedoms
if someone wants to smoke/snort/inject a substance, then who am i to say no
and moreso, who the fuck is the government to say no

Just wanna say, I do work at a pizza shop and one of my mates who jsut left a couple of months ago used to deliver weed lol. This is not a suggestion to ask for it just found it amusing

What is even more amusing is that one of my mates has paid for weed on eftpos at a city club lol.

However I disagree with this article, they say they have no control over it. But here in melb at times its gotten tricky to get, and there was a massive raid just two weeks ago which kingpin put up that showed i think it was 19 houses growing weed raided in just the south east suburbs. Not any of my dealers so hasn't affected me But I guarentee it's definately significant when 9million dollars worth vanishes in a day.

That's all good but one thing you haven't mentioned is if the government doesn't tax it how would they fund the health problems that come with smoking cannabis? If tobacco is taxed then marijuana will also most likely follow the same trend.

Haha I had numerous connections back in Tasmania that would deliver but it always took longer than they said and when I pointed this out I never got it for free.

Now I live in melbourne and have el zilcho connections anyway. Ah well. It's always fun to start at the beginning.

I'm not sure but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be able to legalise marijuana without legalising personal growth, I mean yes they couldn't tax it. But then it would just be argued it's no different as growing your own fruit and vegetables.

I would be extremely suprised if they legalised one without legalising the other. Also the mariujana plants are extremely good for the environment

Surely the problem would be that if they legalised cannabis sales and taxed it into oblivion then there would still be the black market there undercutting the governments prices by bypassing the tax.

In a nutshell if they make it legal and make it super expensive then they haven't solved the problem that the journalist is addressing. In fact they would be making it easier for them as the legality of cannabis is just going to make it easier for people to deal.

They could just sell a growers licence, similar to a car rego, that you would require if you grow at home. $500/yr would not be unreasonable. I'd be more concerned about the compulsory fencing of vegie patches "to protect the children".

It's like the tobacco plant, if you get caught growing one you'll be hell of a lot of trouble. More so than being done with a dope plant. They see it as you pinching money right out of their pockets. Would be same deal i imagine, if pot was legalised
