who is the sports star you would most like to meet, out of any living sports superstar?

I'm sure most people are going to say Michael Jordan for a good reason.

I am going to go with two NBA players, as I think they are more electrifiying/entertaining/fun than NFL players.

first I will go with:

LeBron James is obviously my front-runner. he is a great mixture of a freak of nature, pure class, and it looks like he has lots of fun and doesn't take himself too serious. he's also an Ohio guy so I'm sure we could talk about a lot of interesting topics on the quality of life over here.

then I will go with:

Shaq! he was a big part of my childhood, from his movies (Shaq-fu and Steel) to his video games. he is larger than life, and he always has something funny to say. it's pretty awesome that my two favorite NBA athletes play on the same team. I am a very lucky fan.

I will add more later as the discussion goes along.

I would love for anyone to contribute, even you Euro footballers and rugby players. I like hearing a little bit about random sports stars and why they hold your attention.

from 1969 to 1989, he scored the highest points total of any player in league history (38,387), in addition to winning a record six Most Valuable Player Awards and six NBA championships. He was known for his "skyhook" shot, which was famously difficult to block because it put his 7'2" body between the basket and the ball.

he was actually why i started playing basketball in school. i thought he was such a gangster, and i loved that he changed his name after he converted (although i knew nothing about Islam at the time- I was probably 11) and his goggles were the shit. two years after i gave up playing bball, i read sex drugs and cocoa puffs which talks about Lakers vs Celtics people. i am a Laker person, because of Kareem :)

ranked among the all-time greatest athletes in the women's heptathlon as well as in the women's long jump. She won three gold, one silver, and two bronze Olympic medals, in those two different events. Sports Illustrated for Women magazine voted Joyner-Kersee the Greatest Female Athlete of the 20th century, just ahead of Babe Didrikson Zaharias.

and why i wanted to run track as well as play basketball! i thought she could do anything. her body was so fascinating to me - it looked super powerful and like she could destroy anything. so i played basketball and ran track. i was one tired kid back then.

He is widely regarded as the greatest wide receiver ever and one of the greatest players in National Football League history.[1] The all-time leader in every major statistical category for wide receivers[2] and the all-time NFL leader in touchdowns scored with 208, Rice was selected to the Pro Bowl 13 times (1986–1996, 1998, 2002) and named All-Pro 11 times in his 20 NFL seasons. He won three Super Bowl rings playing for the San Francisco 49ers and an AFC Championship with the Oakland Raiders.

he was one of my dads favourite players, so i have a whole bunch of questions that i'd like to ask on behalf of my dad, yep.

David Rastovich is one of the best surfers in the world that you will never see on the World Tour. A former World Grommet Champion, is is what is known as a Free Surfer, which means he is employed by Billabong and other sponsors to simply travel around the world and be filmed. His philosophy is that surfing is not a competition but a way of life. Don't be fooled, he is renowned for his extreme aerial style that does not translate to the cut and dry technical judging on the World circuit.

He is also employed to help develop and test new products. He is known to excel on a variety of boards and several of his prototypes are cutting edge. Rasta is also known for his alternate lifestyle, he is a passionate environmentalist known for his protests in Japan over dolphin slaughter as well as involvement with Surfers for Cetaceans and Sea Shepherds . Due to his concern for our environment, he maintains his very own organic veggie garden, and is constantly working on ways to make surfboards more eco-friendly.

He lives with his hot wife in the rainforest of Northern NSW, is an accomplished guitarist and pretty much leads what I would call an ideal lifestyle.

Steve Nash.

Seems like a down-to-earth, humble, grateful, all-around cool motherfucker.

yeah, but he looks like an alien. sometimes I think he might be one, also.

That'd be my first choice too. I actually have the unfortunate experience of having to play CB against LBJ when he was in high school

which hs did you go to? I would never want to have the misfortune of ever wanting to play Akron Saint Vincent Saint Marys in basketball... or football.

uh

I MET DREW BREES ON MY FLIGHT FROM ARKANSAS TO DALLAS.

he is one fine looking man, flying coach, sittin in front of me with that superbowl ring glitterin'.

i nearly fucking died.

its prolly not surprising that i want to meet:

i met a bunch of seattle seahawks players at my previous job. to me they seemed like any other parent, but if it was a player for the steelers, i would prolly be pretty intimidated. perception is everything i guess.
