In the mid-70s, surfers from Venice-Santa Monica who hung out at the Zephyr Surf Shop would skateboard when the surf was quiet. Over the course of a few heady years, riding on polyurethane wheels and copying the surfing moves of Larry Bertleman, the Z-Boys invent and polish their style on a hilly street near the shop, on the asphalt slopes ringing school playgrounds, and then in swimming pools empty during California's drought.

The Z-Boys astound upright skateboarders at the 1975 championship in Del Mar. Within a year, the team splinters as some players join better financed pro teams.

This is the one I meant and I wanted to see it so will no doubt have to wait for dvd, though it looked like a film for multiple people to watch and discuss afterward, which doesn't happen when I watch dvd's alone:|
The Road is a 2009 drama film directed by John Hillcoat and written by Joe Penhall. Filming took place in Pennsylvania, Louisiana, and Oregon. The film received a limited release in North American cinemas from November 25, 2009 and was released in UK cinemas on January 4, 201

For those of you who like a lil' humour with your horror. I enjoyed this one, even though a lot of it was clearly done in front of a green screen. Cheap, but entertaining. =D

I might watch it, but I might also watch Crank 2 : High Voltage as my Jason Statham hatred fell by the wayside at the most over the top film ever that I laughed at all the way through. Its so low brow its unbelievable. I should fucking recommend Crank first but some cunt will no doubt rebuff me with everything SHithead Statham is in is wank. Or that they personally did not think it was the most over the top film ever. I have high hopes for crank two.

tribal girl, got any other recommendations in this same vein? i love cheesy horror.

Well I know you asked TB but I've got one.

Tokyo Gore Police

My friend told me to watch this. It looks super Cheese!! IMDB classes it as Action / Horror/ Sci fi. I'm just about to down load it. I fancy a laugh.

The Plot......
Set in a future-world vision of Tokyo where the police have been privatized and bitter self-mutilation is so casual that advertising is often specially geared to the "cutter" demographic, this is the story of samurai-sword-wielding Ruka and her mission to avenge her father's assassination. Ruka is a cop from a squad who's mission is to destroy homicidal mutant humans known as "engineers" possessing the ability to transform any injury to a weapon in and of itself.

I KNOW RIGHT!

Anything that bad looking has got to be good for a laugh!

I've got that Tex =D Jeebus it's terrible.
Also, Dead Snow is rather good too Tribal :)

I have for you:

THX 1138
George Lucas' dystopian, Orwellian flick that's really, really good :) Strange dialogue and stuff. He had a rather low budget too if I remember correctly (and pulled it off brilliantly).

&

Tokyo Sonata
An ordinary Japanese family slowly disintegrates after its patriarch loses his job at a prominent company.
Esssssellent flick ^_^

Watched Cocaine Cowboys the other night. Quality, thought the first was better than the second. Both worth a watch tho.

Also watched The Borne Supremacy the other night too. Class film but really need to see it again, missed beginning and end. 8) The book would prob be a good read.

Texy that picture is disturbing. I honestly can't watch stuff like that!

Yeah I'm sure it's a fine film, but it was the whole japanese man = salaryman and patriarch without which family cannot survive haha

Aaahh I see ;)
It is a common thing happening to many families around Japan though (and the rest of the world) :\
