Im not entirely sure if MMJ is legal over here in the UK and for some reason i cant find anything on it (so im guessing the answer is no its not legal) but I just wondered if anyone would be able to shed any light on this and give me an answer.

I have no use whatsoever for MMJ i just cant remember if we have it or not.

Wikipedia said:
In the United Kingdom, if you are arrested or taken to court for possession of cannabis, you are asked if there are any mitigating factors to explain why it is in your possession. It is unknown whether this is solely a formality, or if an excuse of medical usage has ever been used successfully to reduce the penalty issued. However, in the United Kingdom, possession of small quantities of cannabis does not usually warrant an arrest or court appearance (street cautions or fines are often given out instead). Under UK law, certain cannabinoids are permitted medically[156], but these are strictly controlled with many provisos under the Misuse of drugs act 1971 (in the 1985 amendments). The British Medical Associations official stance is "users of cannabis for medical purposes should be aware of the risks, should enrol for clinical trials, and should talk to their doctors about new alternative treatments; but we do not advise them to stop."

kayenta - that video is from 2007 so it doesnt really have any relevance with regards to cannabis laws these days since in 2007 mj was a class c.

So Roose im guessing thats a yes MMJ is legal in the uk? I dont really regard wiki as a reliable source since anyone can add to it.

Everybody tells you no, but you somehow take the word yes?

kayentas link spells it our pretty clearly.

Damn. So the U.S. is actually more pro-cannibus than England then? Crazy

It's true man .

The other day I was reading in a British newspaper that the uk has actually got more conservative over the Years (since the labour party took over )

and the states are actually becoming more liberal

There was also a public poll in bot countries asking if cannabis should be leagalized
-only 48% of people in the uk thought it should be

-while in the US it was in the 90% range

:(. God save the queen :(

^ There has been a shift in the uk on views of cannabis in the last five years, in the press and somewhat in the general population. This was partly triggered by news stories in the papers (notably the Daily Mail) about new strains of MJ causing 'cannabis psycosis'. This seemed to happen straight after it was down graded to Class C, it now has been upgraded to Class B.
